We're looking for a real estate Acquisitions Director who will serve as a key member of our Acquisitions team, helping build Cadre as a leading investment manager and market disrupting thought leader in the real estate sector. You will be primarily responsible for identifying, sourcing, evaluating, executing and managing real estate equity investments across product types and geographies. In addition, you will contribute to team-specific and cross-functional initiatives aimed at furthering Cadre’s unique position as an innovative, technology-empowered real estate investment platform.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Deal execution including performing detailed underwriting and assessment of investment opportunities; structuring, negotiating, obtaining financing for, and executing transactions across a range of transaction types;
• Identifying and sourcing and managing real estate equity investments across product types and geographies to maximize risk-adjusted returns
• Keeping current on industry trends and market pricing (including public company comps)
• Aiding in the establishment of an investment strategy, framework and process of evaluation for Cadre’s real estate investments
• Positioning and branding Cadre as a thought-leader in the sector and helping build a world-class real estate team
• Growing, developing and maintaining your existing network to support the sourcing of deals; accessing data and information on deals and markets; and/or position Cadre to be the successful bidder in competitive situations; developing and nurturing both new and existing relationships
• Interfacing with operating partners, investors, lenders, brokers and executives
• Directing and managing the efforts of a team, including involvement in the hiring and mentoring of the broader Acquisitions team
• Gaining respect of professionals at Cadre as well as the broader community
• Working closely with all Cadre professionals across Acquisitions, Asset Management, Investor Relations, Finance, and Engineering teams

WHAT YOU HAVE:

• 7+ years relevant work experience, including direct real estate investing experience (ideally at a top-tier real estate private equity firm)
• Extremely knowledgeable across real estate asset classes and industry sectors
• Passion for all aspects of real estate investing and the commercial discipline and sophisticated investment approach including identification and mitigation of risk required to make financially attractive investments
• Extensive due diligence and transaction experience, including experience evaluating investments in across property types, portfolios, geographies, understanding different parts of the capital structure and across different risk profiles;
• Clear sense of investment process and risk management
• Multi-dimensional thinker with excellent problem solving and quantitative skills, including command of Excel, ARGUS and other real estate valuation tools / methodologies
• Strategic visionary; innovative and progressive; respects and understands the potential of technology in real estate;
• Entrepreneurial, self-starter; self-guided work ethic
• Demonstrated team orientation as evidenced by strong mentorship and relationships from professional and other experiences
• Organized; close attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Outstanding leadership, relationship, interpersonal, and management skills
• Strong academic achievement. Undergraduate degree required. M.B.A. preferred, but not necessary
