Grailed is a fully-remote team that works between the hours of 10am - 6pm ET. We also have our headquarters in NYC (SoHo) for those that wish to work from an office environment. We are looking for an experienced, inspirational Director of Brand Marketing who can help to evolve and drive the future of the Grailed brand. As the leader of Brand Marketing, they will be responsible for communicating our brand in innovative and inspiring ways to everyone, everywhere. This dynamic leader will support a multi-functional team, including brand activations, campaigns, editorial content, and social media, and will be responsible for motivating and developing the team creatively and operationally. This role will be instrumental in crafting a creative and effective strategy that drives huge brand affinity and then ensuring perfect execution across the board.

Who you are

  • You’re a true brand marketing expert — you’re creative, you’re strategic, and you have demonstrated experience building a brand that is truly differentiated and inspirational. You know how to connect with existing and future customers and have expert knowledge/experience across strategy, brand building, content, campaign development/execution, and social media.
  • You are a results-oriented leader, who uses data to measure the impact of a company’s brand and brand campaigns, marrying art and science in the creation of compelling brand executions
  • You love partnering with Creative, Growth, and Product teams to drive forward cross-functional initiatives that achieve collective goals (including revenue and engagement targets, in addition to brand-specific KPIs)
  • You love leading a team, mentoring/developing junior team members, and are willing to roll up your sleeves in an instant
  • You have extensive expertise in powerful and creative campaign development and execution, content creation, and/or social media
  • You’re an operator with a strong ability to prioritize multiple work streams, timelines, and budgets across engagements based on short- and long-term needs
  • You love finding new/non-traditional ways of creating content and can operate both strategically and tactically
  • You are an excellent communicator and compelling storyteller. Experience presenting to senior leaders
  • You have a minimum 10 years experience in fashion, youth culture, lifestyle and/or DTC with demonstrated success building inspired brand and content programs to scale and a strong sense for community engagement

Responsibilities

  • Help to answer the most important question: how to leverage brand to grow and maintain an inspired audience in a competitive landscape.
  • Launch the company’s first set of broad brand awareness campaigns, owning the target audience, channels, positioning, messaging, and methodology to measure impact
  • Set the go-to-market strategy. Drive & maintain an exciting marketing calendar that captures primary, secondary, seasonal, differentiated stories based on business priorities and big bets – great plans should be equally aspirational and executable
  • Create a frictionless operating model that helps the execute smoothly and with ample lead time
  • Develop and be responsible for innovative, best in class output that drives brand awareness and affinity as a means to grows our TAM penetration. 
  • Build, manage and mentor a team, and drive an urgency for excellence and ensure adherence to the highest possible standards
  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external partners while managing multiple work-streams with competing priorities
  • Be a constant driver of new ideas and innovation
  • Evolve and execute on our brand framework narrative, positioning, and key pillars.
  • Proactively leverage data and user research to track and evaluate brand performance and future priorities, and develop insight-based recommendations to deliver the most effective targeted campaigns and brand experiences.
  • Use foundational brand strategy and insight work to guide global and go-to-market strategies. Stay closely attuned with key brand metrics and performance against targets.

We're a fully-distributed workforce and we empower our team to do their best work from anywhere within the US. We keep a spacious HQ office in Soho, NYC for those looking to work in an office setting. Our two-floor set up includes private roof access which is perfect for al fresco meetings or lunch.
