About the role:

Foursquare is looking for a Director, Product Marketing to lead our enterprise product marketing team consisting of three people across Places, Pilgrim SDK, Unfolded and Visits products. In this role as player/coach, you will work cross functionally to align the broader company around our product strategy and deliver compelling sales motions to tell our story to customers. You and your team will work cross-functionally to synthesize feedback from the field and input into the product roadmap and long-term strategy.  Additionally, you will help the team translate strategy and value proposition of the products into key messages and content that are used to drive leads and move prospects through the sales funnel. This is a highly impactful role that will be responsible for ensuring that our go-to-market teams are enabled to activate against our highest priority customers and use cases.  You will be the voice of the customer, with the customers being Engineers, Product Managers, App Developers, and Data Scientists.

Responsibilities:

  • Messaging and positioning: develop product positioning and messaging that articulates the unique value of our Enterprise products
  • Market intelligence: be the expert on the client buying process and experience, including how our competitors position and sell their products
  • Product launches: work with cross-functional teams to design and execute product launches, feature updates, and partnership integrations to enterprise clients
  • Lifecycle marketing: write, product and send internal and external communications to share product updates and promote marketing programs
  • Sales support: create tools and collateral that support the selling process, from presentations and case studies, to web content and ebooks
  • Strategic planning: partner with sales, product, sales operations, and marketing to develop and deploy annual and quarterly plans, signed to company's OKRs and strategic goals
  • Managing a small team across our enterprise products

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years experience in B2B marketing, preferably within the technology and data sector
  • Deep knowledge of the enterprise data landscape
  • Strong quantitative skills:  you understand how developers and analysts think, and can craft messages/materials that resonate with highly quantitative clients
  • Marketing operations: General familiarity with Salesforce and other CRM tools (sales or marketing) is a plus, as well as experience working with Content Management Systems
  • Technical proficiency:  you don’t need to be an engineer, but you should be able to explain how APIs and SDKs work
  • Copywriting: you are equally comfortable drafting long-form product marketing material, (e.g. case studies and white papers), and bullet point content for one-pagers and websites.  You get excited by editing copy to make it more clear and concise.
  • [Preferred] Digital marketing: you are comfortable crafting email marketing programs and know how to launch multichannel organic and paid media initiatives
  • Client skills: You know how to evangelize our products to clients while gathering feedback on the effectiveness of our key messages/content
  • Deep understanding of engineers, data scientist and product manager
