Metric Theory is searching for a Paid Social Director to help accelerate the growth of our Paid Social team. Reporting to the head of our Paid Social unit, you will guide go-to-market strategies for emerging social channels, distill and disseminate learnings from clients, and help drive testing and innovation across the agency. You will also lead a team of Senior Managers and Account Managers, overseeing their day-to-day work and their overall professional development. Our Paid Social team members are experts in Facebook/Instagram and LinkedIn advertising, responsible for driving KPI improvements and developing cutting-edge strategies tailored to client goals.


As a talented digital marketer yourself, you may also directly manage one large client relationship, guiding digital paid media strategy across paid search, social, and display advertising and overseeing a team supporting execution on those channels.

We are looking for someone with a passion for paid social advertising, well versed in other digital acquisition channels, and a people-focused leader who wants to join a fast-growing, fun digital agency that is hyper-focused on client performance and ROI. The ideal candidate is confident in their ability to drive improvements in paid social account performance and to guide a large team in testing and innovation.

Thought Leadership

  • Contribute to Metric Theory’s Research & Development team by guiding tests, aggregating results, and distributing learnings agency-wide
  • Work with the head of our Paid Social unit to establish go-to-market strategies and best practices for emerging social channels (ex: TikTok)
  • Collaborate with Metric Theory’s marketing team to create content for the blog post and media outlets related to emergent trends and hot topics related to paid social advertising

Team Management

  • Manage a team of 1-2 Senior Managers and their team members, including Account Managers and Analysts
  • Train your team in advanced paid social advertising, multi-channel digital marketing strategy and client management skills including projections, analytics reporting, etc.
  • Focus on personnel development through ongoing feedback, performance reviews and quarterly 1-on-1s with team members

Client and Revenue Oversight

  • Serve as the main point of contact and manage the client relationship for one large MT client
  • Generate strong revenue growth from client renewals on your team
  • Guide overall account strategy, forecasting, and planning

Skills and Experience Required

  • Ideal candidate has 5+ years of agency paid social advertising experience
  • Ideal candidate has directly managed paid social budgets of $200,000+ in monthly ad spend at some point in their career
  • Experience directing strategy for both B2B and B2C digital advertising efforts
  • Experience optimizing accounts based on backend KPIs and CRM data
  • Ability to think strategically and drive solid results to grow the business
  • Strong data analytics and strategy background
  • Proven team leadership and minimum of 2 years of management experience
  • Not afraid to get in the weeds, but still also able identify larger direction of the team & digital marketing industry
  • Exceptional communication skills with experience presenting to client-side executive teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an eagerness to work as a member of a fast-growing team
