About the role

Product Marketing is at the heart of communicating the impact of FireHydrant’s reliability platform to Engineering, IT, and SRE leaders across the software industry. We’re looking for a Director of Product Marketing to influence our product strategy, inform our go-to-market plans, and clearly communicate our product value directly to users and through our Sales team. You’ll be developing our product positioning and messaging, launching products to a rapidly growing market, and contributing directly to our core business metrics.

The work you’ll do

  • Own the product messaging and positioning that aligns sales, marketing, product, and engineering and reinforces our corporate story
  • Understand our funnel and define a content and program roadmap that removes friction and reinforces value along the customer journey
  • Build and drive a process for launches, so when we ship features, everyone across product, marketing, and sales are aligned on the what, when, and why
  • Design sales enablement frameworks that create confidence, clarity, and alignment
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, product, and finance to identify market segments, establish pricing and packaging, and create and evaluate financial models
  • Grow our product marketing team as we scale
  • Establish a partnership with the product team that allows you to provide perspective and create some healthy tension
  • Put the customer at the center of all you create. This spans thinking like a customer to evaluate the value of your presentations, demos, content, etc. to actually putting the customer voice into your content.
  • Become the resident expert on the emerging incident management category. You should be such a natural student of the category that you become comfortable having deep, meaningful and dynamic conversations with Site Reliability Engineers.
  • Act as an expert at the competitive landscape. Know why, where, and how we win and go hard on helping the market understand that.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Knows how to tell a story to a technical audience, explain technical concepts clearly, and leads with empathy in communicating to our current and future customers.
  • Gets their hands dirty on the implementation and pulls themselves up to track the big picture.
  • Integrates both qualitative and quantitative data to identify opportunities and improvements to our customer acquisition, adoption, and retention efforts.
  • Has subject-matter expertise in DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure technologies.
  • Has experience in enterprise SaaS products, particularly marketing to IT, Engineering, or Security leaders.
  • Utilizes superb verbal, written, and presentation communication skills. Comfortable communicating with both internal and external audiences.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced product-led technology company, communicates well both synchronously and asynchronously, and has experience working on a distributed team.
