Freshly is seeking an experienced email marketer to develop, manage, build and execute best in class customer lifecycle marketing. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, lead development, refer-a-friend programming, triggered transaction series and retention programs that will nurture our relationship with Freshly customers from leads capture to acquisition to repeat purchases. This role reports into the Customer Engagement and Lifecycle Marketing Lead and will work closely with the Acquisition, Brand Marketing, Creative, Customer Service, and Data Analysis teams. This position will play a vital role in taking our CRM and Customer Lifecycle campaigns to the next level.

An ideal candidate for this role will be a self-starter who is a both an entrepreneurial and a strategic thinker who looks to solve problems – or harness opportunities -- pragmatically and creatively. You should be familiar with CRM tools and ESP platforms including content builders, customer segmentation logic, audience creation, and database management. You should feel comfortable tracking, reporting, troubleshooting and taking actions from analyzing key performance indicators for CRM. Some familiarity with Photoshop to be able to resize creative assets, change CTA copy, or make light edits to .psd and .jpg files is a plus.

Customer journey building and audience segmentation logic requires an astute attention to detail, organization, and executional excellence. Customer Lifecycle Campaigns and Journey Building Responsibilities:

  • Build out and optimize Freshly’s customer lifecycle campaigns and journeys plus audience segmentation modeling for needle moving CRM initiatives and customer communications.
  • Manage, build, maintain and execute weekly CRM tactics to increase customer LTV by driving engagement, retention, and purchasing frequency via communications that reflect the brand value proposition, visual equity and voice.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to manage the growth and maintenance of our marketing database including new programs designed to increase email and (mobile) text capture.
  • Track, monitor, report and analyze key performance indicators in order to take actions to drive optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the data analysis team to determine what is working and not working; Run A/B tests to vet champion/ challenger hypotheses to deliver constant campaign performance improvement.
  • Support the retention digital products team to vet technologies and capabilities to expand Freshly’s personalization and dynamic content capabilities within CRM programs.

Email Marketing Responsibility:

  • Collaborate to build the best weekly marketing calendar for CRM.
  • Manage and execute the weekly email marketing programs, including building the email campaigns (some knowledge of HTML is a must) via a content builder, customer segmentation, email deployment scheduling, and trigger email setup utilizing our customer database, audience segmentation logic, and email service provider (ESP) tools.
  • Increase effectiveness of our email marketing programs using a comprehensive test and learn approach (A/B testing) plus key CRM performance indicator tracking, analysis and reporting.
  • Liaise with Customer Service to ensure that our communications are clear and actionable to customers and that our CRM campaigns are functioning as intended, including promotions.
  • Build out the email and push notification customer journey by working closely with the Customer Engagement Lead and Creative teams to address customer pain-points and opportunities.

About You:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in CRM/Email Marketing. Experience in subscription email marketing is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Knowledge of an email or CRM platform for email campaign building, segmentation, email send automation and email campaign management (e.g. Salesforce, Optimove, Sendgrid, Cordial, etc).
  • Passionate about optimization and data analysis, discovering new insights across to put into action to increase performance.
  • Organization and attention to detail including campaign maintenance, updating our image and content library as needed and collaborating with our copy and editing team to ensure that our communications utilize correct grammar and spelling and are free of typos and other errors.
  • Experience in working with web analytics providers (e.g. Google Analytics, Looker).
  • Working knowledge of HTML/Email coding. Some experience building customer journey series and triggered alerts is a plus.
  • Highly disciplined, self-motivated, team player, and looking for an analytical challenge and growth.
