About Foursquare:

Foursquare is a technology company that enriches consumer experiences and informs business decisions through location intelligence. A community of more than 50 million people use the Foursquare City Guide and Foursquare Swarm apps and websites to discover new places, explore the world and check in. They have written more than 95 million tips and checked in over 12 billion times. Foursquare powers location data for Snapchat, Apple, Uber, Twitter and 125,000 other developers. Foursquare’s business solutions also include Pinpoint, Attribution, Pilgrim SDK and Foursquare Analytics, which empower brands to understand and connect to targeted audiences as well as measure foot traffic and advertising success.

About this position:

The Creative & Strategy team is a group of thinkers, tinkers, marketers, strategists, and creatives that support the Enterprise business at Foursquare. We’re looking for someone to lead the ideation, planning, development and execution of events in support of Foursquare’s media, measurement, and developer products. This is so much more than event planning. You’re a marketer at your core, understanding the role of events as an acquisition channel. You know the media and tech events space, and are a wiz at cultivating relationships with event organizers and vendors. You negotiate like Olivia Pope, and you prep speakers like they’re about to give the State of the Union. You can write and pitch topics and speakers with the best of ‘em. You eat, sleep, breathe attention to detail, experiential marketing, sales enablement and event execution. You have a passion for technology and a strong point of view on how it can be applied to a host of brand challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop & execute a wide scope of strategic event marketing programs for Foursquare’s enterprise business
  • Understand Foursquare’s brand and product positioning with the ability to ensure consistent, on-brand messaging
  • Manage multiple, complex timetables successfully in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate ability to lead, influence and work across teams, including a broad range of peers and executives. This role works closely with business marketing, public relations, copywriting, sales regional directors and brand partners.
  • Manage relationships with external agencies, vendors and cross-functional internal teams, ensuring collaborative team communication to develop and successfully execute programs
  • Develop and oversee program-specific budgets, and report on ROI
  • Research and recommend creative event executions, offsite venues, logistics and entertainment based on program format and budget
  • Provide onsite event support, team leadership, and other duties as necessary
  • Create pre-event planning decks and post-event summaries and Salesforce campaigns for stakeholders
  • Identify and implement effective processes and procedures to ensure smooth and professional events

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years successful event management experience planning large, complex events (product launches, conferences, executive programs and trade shows) as well as sponsorships, preferably in a B2B, high-tech, fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of how to maximize the value of events and meetings as pipeline generation and relationship building tools
  • You are collaborative, proactive, creative, entrepreneurial, have a healthy appetite for feedback and thrive in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to creatively negotiate requirements
  • Results-oriented, customer-driven, organized with attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills that are effective at all levels of the organization
  • Self-starter, motivated and able to multitask
  • Ability to assess and prioritize workload in a strict deadline oriented environment
  • Ability to anticipate issues and have (or quickly develop) contingency plans
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills, with the ability to proactively address both internal and external teams’ needs
  • Proven effectiveness in budget negotiation and contract development
  • Solid understanding of event technology and reporting, including Pardot, Splash, and Salesforce
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Travel required
