OVERVIEW

The Emerging Experiences Social Editor will manage the voice of Emerging Experiences on all social platforms. Through paid and organic efforts, they will use social channels to grow our audience and drive adoption of our new products and experiential offerings. The Social Editor will be a key member of the VICE Emerging Experiences team and work closely with other key VICE content and strategy teams to optimize social performance on a daily basis.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and execute on Emerging Experiences social strategy across all social platforms
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and decipher real-time analytics to push out relevant content on distributed platforms
• Edit and A/B test copy and design specs to maximize click-through and engagement on stories, adoption of digital and non-digital products, and ticket conversion on all experiential offerings; and provide feedback to the Emerging Experiences team
• Be or become well-versed in astrology & experiential and familiar with astrology & experiential social audiences and talent
• Implement paid and marketing social strategy and ad targeting
• Build and maintain relationships with key talent
• Make memes related to astrology
• Help with additional design work for astrology-related and experiential content when needed
• Act as eyes and ears on social platforms, occasionally responding to audience as necessary
• Create platform-specific content with our production teams, including text, photo, video, and interactive
• Liaise with platform support teams as necessary to execute social goals

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• Newsroom experience at a major media company a huge plus
• 1-2 years professional experience running social accounts for a major publisher or brand
• Familiarity with Chartbeat, Google Analytics, Facebook Insights and reporting data from these platforms a plus
• Familiarity with the VICE Network and brand voice
• Innovative background, especially in regards to video, multimedia, visual and interactive media, and how these translate to engagement
• Knowledgeable about finding and effectively engaging communities on social platforms
• Enthusiasm for staying up to date on behavioral and discovery trends on social platforms
• Basic understanding of Adobe Premiere and Photoshop a plus
