About The Role

This role will lead the Marketing team which includes OWA’s brand, consumer insights, social, and creative functions. The Head of Marketing is a new role within the organization that will require a diverse set of skills and experience in the marketing/creative/brand realm. You will report directly to OWA’s founder.

You are creative, strategic, and have experience building deep, cross functional relationships to help enable a productive flow of work. You’re comfortable with ambiguity, working on tight timelines, and nurturing a team to perform at an incredibly high level. You thrive in an environment where collaboration is required, and you can coach the team you build to do the same.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop the strategic marketing plan and budget encompassing the company’s marketing efforts
  • Serve as a key member of OWA’s leadership team to drive brand and marketing culture throughout all facets of the business
  • Manage the marketing team in-house and well as external parties
  • Build a marketing team to scale the business from the early stage through growth stage
  • Research sales and marketing team strategies to identify ways to grow sales and brand recognition
  • Craft innovative marketing ideas and develop deployment strategies to continue to grow market share and fuel brand loyalty
  • Maintain successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses and providing a return on investment for investors
  • Own agency relationships for execution of strategic marketing plan (i.e. PR, social, digital ad)
  • Set goals and expectations for direct reports, align performance and rewards, address performance issues and hold staff accountable for successful results
  • Develop initiatives around brand passion points, driving customers’ experiences and business goals
  • Understand business goals and regularly appraise and evaluate initiatives
  • Conceptualize and drive marketing to generate word of mouth and positive PR traction
  • Lead creative input, marketing budget management, all collateral design and production
  • Oversee the design and build-out of relevant digital channels, and set broader e-commerce strategy
  • Lead OWA’s content strategy (photo/video shoots, web, social)
  • Create a best in class digital identity that comes across social and digital channels
  • Develop and manage key internal stakeholder relationships

What You Bring To The Team

  • 7+ years of experience in the marketing/brand/insights/creative function, especially with high-growth CPG brands
  • BA/BS Required
  • Depth of experience in brand and creative strategy, new product launches, fueling growth from hyper local to global ad campaigns
  • Comfort collaborating across multiple teams in a scrappy, fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail including strong proofreading, copy editing, and creative development experience
  • Experience connector of insights, performance metrics, creative direction, and market research to develop a high-level strategy for the team
  • History of bringing large-scale, integration campaign executions to life across multiple mediums and channels
  • Proven track record of developing frameworks and workflows that enable the team to achieve peak performance
  • Deep understanding of how our messaging cadence should be best optimized for performance and brand building across digital and OOH channels using qualitative and quantitative inputs understand our current and future customers
  • Management experience of teams of 5+ in across marketing/creative roles, as well as hiring and training (you’ll be building the team!)
  • Keen eye for visual design
  • Ability to communicate complex information in an easily understood and thoughtful manner both within the company and to the external world
