Head of PR & Communications
SeatGeek is poised to grow at a massive pace as live event attendance returns across the globe. We're looking for someone to help us harness that momentum and accelerate from a growth-stage company to an industry-leading household name.
As the Head of PR & Communications, you'll manage all aspects of PR, from creating a compelling narrative, to managing the internal team & agencies, to building out and building upon a media strategy. You'll own all major communication touch points to help SeatGeek grow our reputation in front of industry, consumer and business press.
What you'll do
- Own SeatGeek's PR strategy and execution across all aspects of PR including corporate, industry, consumer, and internal communications. Create a narrative that extends our growth momentum throughout multiple audiences
- Manage the PR & communications team to extend the potential for impact across the business. Build out SeatGeek's external approach to PR, including overseeing agency and contractor relationships to extend SeatGeek's PR capabilities as we quickly scale
- Represent PR cross-functionally at SeatGeek across all teams, including taking an active role as a partner to the CEO and executive team
- Build strategic PR plans, including developing plans in line with other business initiatives, communicating plans internally and securing leadership approvals
- Manage relationships with relevant tech, business, and sports / entertainment industry reporters
- Act as a spokesperson for SeatGeek, and help train and prepare executives and other SeatGeek employees for media-facing opportunities
- Serve as a partner on creating internal communications and messages
- Work with the marketing team, product, enterprise, and other internal groups to cohesively approach projects and activities
What you have
- 7+ years experience working in PR & Communications, ideally with both in-house and agency experience. Direct experience within tech, e-commerce, marketplaces and/or sports / entertainment preferred
- Experience driving results for growth companies with business and consumer audiences. Experience with IPO, investors and board facing communications is preferred
- Out-of-the box thinking to drive brand building, excellent writer and storyteller that exercises great judgement
- Thrives in a collaborative environment. Experience building strong working relationships with executive leaders, product teams, and other business stakeholders
- Goal-oriented, cool under pressure, and bend towards continuous improvement
- Ability to learn quickly for continued ownership of responsibilities
