Internal Communications Lead
The Role

The Internal Communications (IC) Lead will support the IC team’s scope as Cedar’s internal connectors, enablers, catalysts and amplifiers.
Reporting to the Director, Internal Communications, the Internal Communications Lead will support efforts to ensure every Cedarian has equitable, appropriate and timely access to information, is engaged with and inspired by Cedar’s mission, values and culture, and enabled through clear communications to effectively contribute to Cedar’s success.
Responsibilities
Team / Function Building
- Support IC’s efforts creating a best-in-class internal communications function that fuels employee engagement and mission-connectedness, sharing thoughtful, timely and impactful information that informs, engages and excites Cedarians
- Build effective cross-functional relationships across the company to surface essential information, develop content pipeline, and identify new opportunities for the IC function to provide value to Cedar teams
Content Development
- Plan, write and edit content for a variety of internal communications mediums including Slack, email, intranet and newsletters
- Manage and maintain intranet content, ensuring it is up-to-date, engaging and informative
- Contribute to and support internal communications plans and campaigns to creatively reach Cedarians with the news and information that enables them to do their jobs and contribute to Cedar’s success
- Support audience research and feedback gathering through employee surveys, focus groups and individual interviews
Operational Support
- Provide operational support in implementing Cedar-wide communication events like All Hands and Town Hall meetings
- Help reinforce Cedar’s standard methodologies and communication norms for collaboration and knowledge management among Cedar teams
- Collaborate with People Operations and IT Operations to support essential communication infrastructure (e.g. distribution lists, shared calendars, tool configurations)
Qualifications/Skills
- 5+ years in communications, journalism or similar
- Possesses outstanding oral and written communications skills including superior writing, grammar, editing and proofreading skills
- Natural storyteller, understands the power of narratives
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
- Highly motivated, persuasive and collaborative
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in small and large groups
- Stellar interpersonal skills and willingness to build relationships across teams and functional areas
- Experience or comfort with learning collaboration suite that includes Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides, Confluence and Zoom
