We’re currently looking for an Internal Communications Manager. Internal Communications has become even more important as we approach 200 employees and continue to work in a remote / digital first way. Previously, Internal Comms has been led by the Head of Communications alongside other responsibilities and the time is now to have a dedicated resource for this critical role. The ideal candidate is ambitious, with a get-things-done approach, and comfortable working in a challenging, fast-moving environment. This role would report directly to the Head of Communications. 

What you’ll do:

  • Work with Head of Communications, to define and drive overarching strategy for internal communications
  • Lead the internal communications activities for the company:
    • Monthly company All Hands
    • Business updates from the Exec Team and functional heads –– and ongoing engagement with with Onners
    • Interface with the People Team for communications regarding employee-related issues and activities to support employee engagement
    • Ad hoc reactive issues communications –– especially regarding connectivity in a digital first environment
    • Communications support for the different departments within the business –– what they should be communicating and what should be communicated to them
    • Connectivity between offices / locations
    • Proactively drive the flow of information within the business to ensure that Onners are informed and empowered –– using a variety of tools and channels
    • Air Traffic Control of information being communicated within the company to ensure consistency and effectiveness of communications
    • Establish and manage channels for employees to provide feedback and ask questions
    • Support for significant internal company activities –– e.g. Onna Camp, Sales Kick Off, team offsites, etc.
  • Manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges

Who you are:

  • You have 8+ years of internal communications / PR experience — preferably in tech and a similar size organization 
  • Understanding of employee engagement and dynamics and what is needed in terms of communications to this audience
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with an ability to create a concise and clear narrative for complex technology issues
  • Passion for communications, storytelling and employee engagement
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, often ambiguous environment
  • Strong judgement and the ability to respond promptly to urgent matters
  • Ability to interface at all levels maintaining strong working relationships across cross-functional teams
