Getting together with real people in real life makes powerful things happen. Side hustles become careers, ideas become movements, and chance encounters become lifelong connections. Meetup brings people together to create thriving communities. Show up. Change lives.

As the first Marketing Director of Meetup Pro, Meetup’s B2B product, you’ll oversee all marketing strategies to drive sustainable growth and exceed revenue goals for one of Meetup’s most critical lines of business. This position is both tactical and highly strategic: you’ll create Meetup Pro’s first true marketing program, leading online marketing, sales marketing, product marketing, account-based marketing and demand generation, all while helping to define the voice of Meetup Pro and its unique brand in relation to Meetup.

This role requires a flexible team player who is comfortable with change; someone who embraces the chance to lead while being excited to roll up her or his sleeves to pitch as the Meetup Pro team scales at an incredible clip. We need a strategic leader who is equal parts creative, operational, collaborative, and revenue-minded. If this sounds exciting and not overwhelming, please reach out!

On a normal day you might:

  • Meet with our Marketing VP, copywriter and Head of Digital Marketing to ensure consistency across objectives, tone and brand voice for Meetup Pro as it relates to Meetup’s consumer product
  • Take on the role of primary writer on various projects as they pop up -- from email campaigns to sales collateral
  • Determine the budget for an AdWords account and work with design and sales to create a win-back Mailchimp campaign
  • Work with Meetup’s Head of Digital Marketing to define and understand conversion rates from Meetup consumer product, and off platform sources, throughout the sales funnel
  • Work with our marketing department and outside agencies to create multi-channel acquisition programs that seamlessly integrate events, digital, content, email, direct mail, paid advertising, social and account-based marketing
  • Partner with sales and client services to develop account-based efforts to upsell and expand our current Pro customer networks
  • Work with our marketing team and copywriters to develop quality content that we can promote across everything from our blog, to email campaigns, to Facebook and paid ads
  • Work with sales and the account management team to create our first library of sales and product marketing materials
  • Lead the demand generation and marketing operations functions to drive optimal pipeline generation and revenue
  • Own reporting responsibility for Meetup Pro, making sure stakeholders understand marketing’s impact on revenue
  • Solidify our funnel and attribution models and always be ready to report results and provide insights.
  • Work with our Head of Digital marketing to understand Meetup’s marketing technology stack and make recommendations when appropriate for new tools for Meetup Pro
  • Establish OKRs/metrics for all programs, create results forecasts, and track performance to ensure marketing plans are delivering expected business outcomes.

You should have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in B2B marketing, demand generation, and/or marketing operations, preferably at SaaS or technology companies similar to Meetup
  • Demonstrated experience planning and managing demand generation programs that produce high-quality opportunities and drive revenue
  • Demonstrated hands-on proficiency with Marketo (or similar) and Salesforce.com
  • Strong analytical skills and proven ability to use data to optimize campaign performance and inform future strategies
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to influence and motivate team members at all levels
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Event marketing or event technology experience a plus

Our team is bold, supportive, and passionate about bringing people together in real life to create community for everyone. We care about moving fast, real-world change and building diverse, dynamic teams. You in?

An Insider's view of Meetup

How would you describe the company’s work-life balance?

Meetup promotes a healthy balance and respect around work life, personal life, and family life. It's not simply policy but instead, the culture that lives with all employees (managers and leaders included). Work happens during our traditional business hours.

Harry Chiu

Head of Recruiting

What does your typical day look like?

As an engineer at Meetup, my mission is to build things that help product teams focus on our users and develop our product faster and with better quality. My team mob programs or pair programs by default, which works great for us because it increases code and architecture, knowledge sharing, focus, productivity and team bonding.

Jaclyn Jiménez

Senior Full Stack Engineer

How does the company support your career growth?

I created my own professional development path by participating in the Employee Resource Group and Diversity & Inclusion council. Participating and organizing these company initiatives allowed me to stretch my leadership muscles, understand the value of empathizing with my colleagues, and appreciate the ability to use my voice to influence change.

What's something quirky about your company?

What I enjoy the most about working at Meetup is the people. As a mission driven company with a focus on building community, our community sets a great example.
