As the Marketing Manager, you would lead the marketing strategy (with initial focus on acquisition) that takes Alibaba.com into its next chapter: a global end-to-end platform to connect business buyers and sellers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing marketing strategy to meet the growth aspirations of the North America operating business including acquisition for a two sided marketplace (e.g., sellers and buyers)
  • Understanding business goals, synthesizing market data and customer research, and delivering well-scoped, bold and effective strategic marketing plans
  • Setting KPIs and manage marketing budget for acquisition. Ensuring consistent brand communication across all programs and activities
  • Working closely with North America Sales and Marketing groups to define and execute the acquisition marketing plan
  • Creating plan to advise Alibaba.com marketplace sellers on how to acquire potential buyers
  • Establishing cross-border relationships with an international operating team (primarily based in Hangzhou, China), engendering trust via strategic clarity, exemplary performance, and a relentless focus on delivering strategically-significant results
  • Communicating goals and plans clearly and effectively, eliciting useful feedback, creating enthusiasm, and getting buy-in from stakeholders distributed across multiple organizations

Desired Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of quantified marketing with demonstrated results, paid social optimization, email marketing, brand/product marketing, communications, acquisition marketing experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is a plus
  • Experience in SMB marketing and dual-sided marketplaces a major plus. Bonus points for any import/export or cross-border trade experience.
  • You have experience leading, partnering, and influencing cross-functional + cross-market teams and working with the most innovative agency partners
  • You are a creative thinker/doer with a passion for solving the toughest problems in a way that are mutually beneficial for the Alibaba.com user and Alibaba Group as a company
  • Deep understanding of marketing attribution modeling, as well as a core understanding of how different marketing channels complement each other
  • Highly organized, attentive to detail, ability to manage, and drive scalable and repeatable processes
  • Very strong execution skills and ability to drive tight project management
  • Ability to research and stay ahead of industry trends and share findings with internal stakeholders
