Joining Collibra's Education team:

Collibra is looking for a Media Specialist to join our Education team that is part of our Professional Services department. The mission of the Education team is to provide foundational knowledge of data intelligence and share best practices in its implementation through instructor-led bootcamps, on-demand courses and virtual labs. As a Media Specialist you will collaborate with the education content team to design visual assets that support the instructional outcomes including video and motion graphics, animations, instructional graphics, and other multimedia materials to facilitate learning. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Instructional Design, the ideal candidate will lead all video production and post-production editing initiatives for the education services team.

Media Specialists at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Planning, recording and editing visually compelling videos for all educational initiatives using professional video design software 
  • Performing cameraman responsibilities including lighting setup, proper camera settings and ensuring quality output
  • Collaborating with the Learning Experience Designers and Instructional Designers to ensure all visual assets support the desired outcome and deter cognitive overload.  
  • Brainstorming visual concepts that encourage engagement and motivate the learner
  • Collaborating with Education management to define delivery timelines
  • Testing all final educational media assets to ensure they are functionally sound
  • Documenting all production and post-production processes

You Have:

  • At least three years of experience in digital media production, including planning, shooting, editing and creating motion graphics for instructional/educational video
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of the Adobe Product Suite including Adobe AfterEffects, Premiere, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge of screencast editing using Techsmith Camtasia to create appealing web-based tutorials
  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication, Instructional Design, Media, or closely related field
  • Link to Portfolio samples required with application

  • A self-starter who can take ambiguous information and determine next steps independently and accurately
  • Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and re-prioritize quickly and efficiently
  • Respectful of process and know when to break the rules
  • Strong in interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of LMS Platforms is a plus
  • A problem-solver and critical thinker

Reporting to Collibra's Senior Manager of Instructional Design, measures of success are:

  • Within your first month you will complete and pass all Collibra Virtual Labs
  • Within your third month you will create motion graphics, edit screencasts and videos for new or updates for on-demand courses.
  • Within your sixth month you plan and lead a video shoot for new on-demand courses and virtual labs
