The marketing team at theSkimm is made up of experienced, resourceful, creative, scrappy hustlers. We pull out all of the stops to get sh*t done. We’re seeking an experienced paid specialist who is ready to jump in, be strategic, think outside of the box, and build a paid strategy across our products to drive the business forward. theSkimm is for high performers who thrive off of seeing direct impact and response to their work.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
As theSkimm's Paid Media Skimm’r you will:
- Work directly with the Paid Marketing Manager to build a wholistic paid media strategy across products and platforms
- Lead daily campaign management of theSkimm’s SEM initiatives across Google, Bing and Yahoo
- Provide strategic counsel to internal stakeholders, understand the business, and serve as the go-to thought leader on SEM and PPC opportunities
- Create and manage campaign forecasting trends, budget planning, pacing and advanced optimization techniques
- Build and lead weekly reporting and insights
- Build out a strategy for paid search to grow an e-commerce and content specific site and initiatives
- Analyze performance data, formulate insights and translate them to actionable next steps
- Conduct keyword research and development
- Assist on paid social campaign management under the guidance of the Paid Media Manager to acquire users for the Daily Skimm and theSkimm App
- Build our a
- Lead and implement testing across all paid media channels with both direct response and branding KPI’s
- Manage daily relationships with vendors and technology platforms
- Adept at explaining difficult concepts using simple language and graphics
- Maintaining expertise on search engine marketing news and trends
- Assist with tagging and relevant ad operations as necessary
WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS
- 4-5 years of tactical and strategic experience in SEM and PPC particularly in the e-commerce vertical
- Has a BA/BS in Marketing, Advertising or Communications, Mathematics, Data and Analytics, or related discipline
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Show the ability to articulate clearly and effectively both in writing and in person
- Strong proficiency in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, graphs, formulas, regression etc)
- Experience with Google Analytics and other analytics platforms
- Familiarity with other digital marketing such as SEO, Social Media, Display, Video and Mobile
- Demonstrate passion and thirst for knowledge of SEM and digital marketing in general
- Show enthusiasm, commitment, creativity and positive can do attitude
- Enjoy problem solving and have the ability to adapt to new technologies and processes
- Have strong organizational skills, being able to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Have strong analytical skills and is data and performance driven
- Be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently while collaborating with other departments
- Provide training and education for non-SEM team members
- Google Adwords certification mandatory and Google Analytics certification a plus
- Experienced in managing CPA, CPL, ROI and ROAS campaigns preferred
