PR Manager
Maven is looking for a PR Manager to grow and execute the company’s PR programs, successfully using PR to advance the Maven brand and business goals. The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of experience, preferably at an agency with clients in health care and technology. They have been in a role where they are actively pitching and placing stories and have strong media relationships, particularly with media who cover health care.
This person has a knack for great storytelling, love of media, and understanding of how quality PR can contribute to company goals. They have secured top-tier press coverage, awards, and speaking engagements and have a comprehensive knowledge of the media landscape and trends. They are excellent communicators who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to ensure they are using everything at their disposal to craft great stories for Maven.
The PR Manager will also serve as a key partner to the rest of the Communications team, including the Senior Manager of Communications and SVP, Brand and Communications, to hone Maven’s message and increase brand awareness among key audiences.
As a PR Manager you will:
- Create and execute comprehensive PR strategies and initiatives that successfully position Maven as the leading digital health company for women and families
- Pitch media and cultivate strong relationships on Maven’s behalf
- Oversee Maven’s awards program and earned speaking engagements, ensuring Maven and its executives are showing up in the right ways to the right audiences
- Consistently mine the news, Maven data and other resources to proactively insert Maven into the press and core industry conversations
- Craft press materials, including press releases, briefings, fact sheets, pitches, and more
- Liaise between external agencies and key cross-functional partners
- Lead media monitoring and reporting
What we’re looking for you to bring:
- 5-7 years of PR experience, preferably at an agency with clients in health care and technology
- Excellent media relationships, specifically among reporters covering health care, and in-depth knowledge of the media landscape and key influencers
- Creative, data-driven, always-on approach to storytelling, with an understanding of how PR can contribute to company goals
- Experience with managing and securing top-tier awards and speaking engagements
- Analytical skills to measure and report on efficacy of PR programs, and knowledge of media monitoring and reporting tools
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional partners, including executives, in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and great judgement, with experience navigating communications challenges
