Product Marketing Manager, Gaming and VR
Major League Baseball’s Gaming & VR Group was founded in 2014 to reach new and existing baseball fans with incredible gaming experiences across a variety of gaming platforms and genres. We are a wholly integrated video game publisher and developer, with a robust internal team delivering 8+ product SKUs per year across multiple franchises including R.B.I. Baseball and Home Run Derby.
We are seeking an experienced marketing professional with a passion for sports, video games, and emerging technology to drive revenue and visibility for our console, mobile, and VR games. The Brand Manager will need to be able to work with a diverse group of personalities across disciplines, bringing energy, organization and insight to steer baseball’s core gaming franchises. This role is based in MLB’s New York City offices and reports to the Director of Marketing, Gaming & VR.
Responsibilities
- Drive brand strategy and marketing campaigns for key gaming franchises in the MLB Gaming & VR vertical
- Work with internal and external resources to drive the creation and approval of marketing assets and creative, including brand ID, website, packaging, PR/gameplay assets and advertising
- Manage relationships with first parties including asset submissions, platform marketing, and promotions
- Work with channel marketing to develop of price strategies and promotions on digital and retail
- Work with internal social teams to deploy compelling social content and strategy.
- Manage product budgets, revenue reporting and business intelligence in conjunction with internal teams
- Interface with the MLB Marketing team to deploy media, social and content across owned channels.
- Work with key License partners to support publishing/marketing efforts across platforms and channels
- Deliver innovative marketing campaigns, big ideas and disruptive strategies across products
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience marketing and publishing games, mobile apps, and entertainment IPs.
- Experience with brand management best practices and a suite of tools to successfully bring a video game to market
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Editorial or copy-writing experience a major plus.
- Ability to synthesize analytics, data reporting, and customer insights into successful marketing strategies.
- Understanding of game and web development, video production, asset creation.
- Excellent business acumen, strong written and oral communication, and a practical approach to getting things done
- Action-oriented self-starter. Ability to identify/solve problems with passion, energy, a detail orientation, and enthusiasm to drive results
- Expert user of all social media platforms and experience with social media publishing & tracking tools.
