Botify is an amazing, complex, and rapidly evolving software platform with a wide range of potential uses for different customers. To help us understand all of that and effectively communicate it to the world, we are expanding our Product Marketing team and looking for a group of curious, creative, and collaborative Product Marketing Managers.

At Botify, Product Marketing Managers are responsible for bridging the gap between what our technology can do, and why that matters (or could matter!) to different people. It involves staying up to date on a long list of new features, capabilities, and value propositions AND being able to help different people find and understand the relevant ones.

Your responsibilities:

  • Writing; Be able to communicate clearly, and at multiple levels. Depending on the audience and the concept, you’ll need to be able to write at both a high, general level with necessary over-simplifications, OR with a much more precise level of technical accuracy.
  • Speaking / Communicating; You should be comfortable running small training groups, potential hosting product driven webinars, and having conversations (non-sales-related) with customers from time to time.
  • Technology; While it makes many things simpler for customers, Botify is a highly technical product. You should be very comfortable learning about how software gets built & deployed, to how web browsers work, to how SEO itself does or does not affect certain things.
  • Logic; Product marketing involves making sense of many things that are often imperfect. You should be able to understand when a value proposition is incoherent, be able to work around that in the short term, and provide feedback to Product Managers for the long term.
  • Customer Empathy; You need to be able to see things from different points of view. If you are an SEO expert, you will need to think like someone who isn’t. If you aren’t, you’ll need to figure out how to understand the problems, emotions, and the pain points of practitioners.
  • Cross-functional Work; Product marketing often connects to other things. What you need to provide account executives is different than what you need to give product managers, or field marketers. Experience in non-product marketing roles can help here.
  • Research; Be a self-directed learner. Ultimately you will be the resident expert on a subset of things, which means no one will be able to tell you what you need to know. You’ll need to be good at solving problems by reading things/talking to people inside and outside of Botify.
  • Ownership; Product Marketing at Botify means owning different elements of what we do, and taking pride in that. If you are excited about knowing the ins and outs of something better than anyone else, and you know how to use that expertise, you will enjoy your work here.

Your qualifications:

  • Direct product or product marketing experience is obviously very helpful (although not required), especially inside a business to business, software-as-a-service organization
  • Writing and content creation of any sort (you will make a lot of stuff in this job)
  • Customer facing experience
  • Technical experience (building anything)
  • Logic, arguments, advocacy for basically anything
  • Documentation or educational work (especially making something complex a little simpler or better organized)

In addition to the skills and experience we are looking for, our ideal candidate would embody our core values:

Learn Fast. Progress Faster.

Go the Extra Mile. It’s Never Crowded.

Work Hard. Stay Humble.

Be Bold. Be You.

Botify is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status.
