The vision of our Sales, Marketing, and Partnerships team is to drive long-term revenue with small businesses by creating meaningful and value-added engagement at every touchpoint, developing the foundation for an ongoing business relationship. Product Marketing at OnDeck serves as the voice of our customer to internal teams, and as the voice of our product to prospects and customers, linking product features and benefits to their needs. At OnDeck, the Product Management team is responsible for “putting the product on the shelf” and the Product Marketing team is responsible for “getting the product off the shelf” by driving Go-To-Market, i.e. the strategies and tactics to win over a specific market (buyer), and get them to buy our products.

The Product Marketing Manager plays a critical role in the development and execution of all product marketing efforts, collaborating closely with the Marketing, Partnerships, Product Management and Experience Design teams, as well as engaging with our front-line Sales teams. The Product Marketing Manager will be directly responsible for executing go-to-market strategies for new product/feature launches, executing customer segment-specific marketing strategies, and enabling our Partnerships & Sales teams with key product assets and collateral. Key goals include driving new product/feature adoption rates and increasing partner engagement and usage of sales enablement collateral, to ultimately drive win rates and retention rates, increasing the number of new customers and customer lifetime value. He/she will report to the Senior Manager, Product Marketing.

As a Product Marketing Manager at OnDeck on the Product Marketing Team, you will:
  • New Product/Feature Launches:
    • Help develop the go-to-market strategies including positioning & messaging and marketing and sales enablement plans
    • Work closely with Product team on UX copy, and with Demand Generation, Design, and Email Marketing teams to create customer and partner communications and multi-channel campaign assets and get them in market. Collaborate with Sales Managers to create and deliver trainings and collateral including scripting, objection handlers, battlecards, etc.
    • Post-launch, monitor sales calls and activities, work with Sales Managers on any sales reinforcement activities, and track and report on marketing campaigns 
  • Customer Segment-Specific Marketing Strategy:
    • Create segment-specific positioning and messaging documents for each of our products and help develop marketing plans
    • Partner with Demand Generation and Design teams to execute multi-channel segment-specific campaigns, creating assets and getting them in market. Collaborate with Content and Email Marketing teams to tailor customer lifecycle communications by segment 
  • Partner Marketing:
    • Serve as main point of contact with Partnerships team on all partner marketing needs/support, keeping track of and communicating new and completed requests, and developing joint marketing programs with key partners
    • Track partner engagement with new assets and make adjustments to plan and timelines as needed
  • Sales Enablement:
    • Collaborate with Sales and Account Management teams to create customer-friendly call scripting/FAQs and partner on any new opportunities to deliver solutions which help best communicate the product value proposition
    • Work closely with Sales Enablement Manager to identify, develop and deliver necessary sales collateral for every stage of the sales funnel (objection handlers, ROI tools, competitor battlecards, etc.). Create a guidance system and develop strategies to ensure usage of sales collateral 
Qualifications to make it happen:
  • 3-5 years of product marketing or similar experience. Experience within financial services is preferred
  • Working knowledge of the small business customer segment and familiarity with range of financing options available to small business owners
  • Independent, self-starter - highly self-driven, motivated, and productive; skilled multi-tasker who can prioritize and pivot quickly and on-the-fly
  • Team player, experience building strong relationships with cross-functional partners to gain buy-in and support, and drive initiatives from concept to launch
  • Experience in helping and motivating salespeople and sales organizations
  • Good mix of right brain and left brain with a knack for being able to balance creative mindset/skill with a data-driven, analytical approach to measuring results. Familiarity with conversion rate optimization, A/B testing and relevant software platforms
  • Strong writing ability, including experience in preparing product marketing positioning and messaging
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
