Common is hiring a Project Coordinator to source, procure, and manage the installation of furniture, fixtures and equipment inside our homes. From working with our Interior Decorators, furniture sales reps, warehouse and logistics managers and manual labor on site during home move in, our Project Coordinators are responsible for all aspects of preparing our new homes for our members.


About the Role

Common provides convenience and community in all of our homes. By furnishing our homes from the bed and sofa, through to the silverware, blender and linens, our members are able to move in without the typical pain points of the “moving process”. We also recognize that in shared living there is the dilemma of how to decorate, and “who takes what” when they leave. By furnishing our homes we create beautiful spaces for our members to enjoy and remove many of the things that roommates can fight over. It is the Project Coordinator’s responsibility to ensure that, on opening day, our homes deliver on this promise, and that the home is ready for our members when they move in.

Our Project Coordinators have strong attention to detail, an affinity for organization and a sincere passion and care for the end member experience. This role requires someone who has; an eye for style and quality, is diligent and able to keep track of many items at once, is proactive, and is an excellent communicator. This is also a leadership role. During home move ins Project Coordinators run the show. They are in charge of all aspects of the move in, from ensuring that movers place furniture correctly, to problem solving on the spot and managing teams of laborers to quality check the home and carry out small tasks.


This is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting start up at an early stage. Your work will have a meaningful and significant impact on the member experience and you will be an important part of the Space team. You will report directly to the Head of Design and Construction and work closely with peers in this role. Being an early stage startup there is great opportunity for growth, and to contribute to the formation of new processes and systems. The role is creative, both in interior decoration, and also in problem solving.


The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, but comfortable to make decisions and to communicate directly when necessary.

Requirements:

  • You are an intelligent individual with 2 to 4 years work experience
  • You are able to demonstrate experience and skills in Project or Event Management
  • You are keen to work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • You will be comfortable both in the office and in the field (at the homes during move in)
  • You know how to ask for help when you need it
  • You have an interest and an eye for well-designed residential spaces and furniture
  • You have some background in visual design work, staging, or interior design.
  • You are a strong and proactive communicator
  • You are a problem solver and are comfortable making and acting on your decisions
  • You have skills in excel and a proven record of care and diligence in detail
