Senior Acquisition Marketing Manager

The Senior Acquisition Marketing Manager will be responsible for EnergyHub’s overall end-user marketing and growth strategy. You will drive consumer participation in electric and gas utility programs that use internet-connected energy devices like smart thermostats, electric vehicle chargers, and solar/battery systems to improve the reliability and sustainability of the electric grid. You will help get people who already own these devices to enroll in programs we run in partnership with utilities and also help accelerate the rate of adoption of the devices in those utility territories in order to drive more enrollment. This role is critical, as high-growth customer acquisition is crucial to our success.

As the Senior Acquisition Marketing Manager, you will turn data-driven insights into a comprehensive marketing strategy, with an emphasis on digital. You will be as comfortable leading internal and external teams as rolling up your sleeves to turn strategy into execution.

The role

Scale: You will proactively and independently create a repeatable playbook to aggressively scale enrollments and help sell connected devices; you will drive overall strategy and implementation of marketing of EnergyHub’s utility programs: acquisition, retention, and customer experience. You will seek out and build the business case for new partnerships and strategies that significantly drive enrollment and sales and ensure that clients follow our recommendations to drive enrollments and simplify marketing/customer experience implementation.

Data: You will use data to drive decision making internally and externally (and creatively solve for data you don’t have) to create new campaigns, reach enrollment and sales targets, evaluate tactics/processes revamp the acquisition funnel, improve program design, and fine tune EnergyHub’s overall consumer marketing strategy.

Campaigns: You and your team will work with utility marketing teams and connected device partners to distill core messaging for each program to optimize program appeal and enrollment. You think outside the box; in conjunction with these stakeholders you will develop and deploy tactics/tools/campaigns and test radically different approaches to your work. You will seek out, hire, and manage external consultants, as needed, to roll out campaigns big and small.

Tools/Customer experience: You will work with the Product team (and device partners where feasible) to instrument existing enrollment tools to optimize for conversions; your focus will be in analyzing customer drop off points and making recommendations to improve customer experience and create efficiencies. You’ll also dig into retention trends and develop tools to sway customers to stay enrolled.

Process: You will manage processes and overall marketing traffic; you and your team will schedule and deploy consumer marketing campaigns across channels (direct mail, email, web, PR and other tactics as needed) to support program goals and you will ensure these plans are communicated to internal and external teams. You’ll be sure project plans, schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and related tools are available to manage projects and partners

Story telling: You will generate new slide content for sales and client success presentations and use storytelling to convey EnergyHub’s marketing strengths and experience, to showcase campaign results, and to highlight new projects/programs.

You’re a problem solver who thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment. You have experience uncovering the best funnel strategy for scaling a business. You've owned everything from collateral copy to campaign strategy in past roles.
