Custora is growing fast, and we're looking for an experienced marketer to lead our content strategy and execute marketing campaigns that are compelling, relevant, buzz-worthy, and most importantly, effective for driving demand generation. You will be joining a small team that moves fast, and you'll be responsible for the strategy and execution behind Custora’s content marketing.

In this role, you’ll be Custora’s Chief Storyteller, crafting compelling and visionary narratives about our products, services and solutions while also thinking critically about the best way to distribute and amplify these stories to our target market. As our Content Marketing Manager, you'll get to craft how we speak about our vision and portray that to external stakeholders.

You’ll report directly to the Head of Marketing, and work across teams (Sales, Customer Success, Product and Marketing) to source ideas, define gaps in our messaging/approach, and stay on top of industry trends. The right candidate will have already proven themselves in a variety of skill areas from persuasive writing to planning and prioritization. Over time, you will build out a team to help develop and manage a growing library of world class content—like music videos, eBooks, and reports.

Is content your thing? Here’s more of what we are looking for:

Content Development: In addition to internal conversations, you will also engage regularly with market analysts, Custora customers, and prospects. You’ll manage long-term plans and develop novel formats that will appeal to diverse industry segments and personas. This role will require an element of writing but will mostly manage the strategy for our content. You'll have the ability to outsource or work with agencies on the development of the actual content.

Project Management: You will coordinate the efforts of both internal and external design teams as you build out our content assets. Drive content marketing initiatives to generate traffic, engagement, and leads and support member retention and engagement efforts while ensuring content is developed with SEO-friendly mindset Ensure all content is on-brand and optimized for search engine optimization.

Results Tracking and Optimization: You'll be monitoring the impact of your content very closely, measuring prospect and customer engagement, social sharing, and the performance of campaigns. You will be analytical and honest about our approach, and you will be relentless about optimizing Custora’s strategy to increase awareness, consumption, and effectiveness of the assets we produce.

Qualifications:

Digital marketing, B2B SaaS, and retail industry experience (or burning passion): 10+ years of experience, or 5-ish years experience working in fast-paced technology environments, e-commerce, a software-as-a-service company, and/or digital marketing. A degree in English or Journalism is a plus. Maybe you've even been a journalist covering digital marketing technology for a retail industry trade publication. Or you're a writer/creative director in a creative agency that works with retail clients. If you haven't yet, you've been following it in the news, or perhaps as a consumer, and you're looking forward to immersing yourself professionally in all things online shopping. When you hear Bonobos, you think monkeys—wearing colorful pants.

Content Creation & Strategy: You have great respect for words—both written and said. You probably think this job post is too long, and you might have a few suggestions on how to trim it down. You know how to explain complex concepts in clear, pithy prose. You've also had experience beyond just writing but managing multiple contributors and the non-linear process of generating lengthy, finished pieces.

Content Marketing: You've created content that is used to attract and convert prospects into sales opportunities, and have worked closely with a sales, product and customer success teams in the past. You know which are the most effective channels and have overseen distribution.

Analytical and communication: You are highly analytical with incredible communication skills; making intricate technical issues easy to comprehend comes naturally to you. You enjoy learning about how something works, and you think creatively about about how software and technology have the power to change the world.

Results-oriented: You obsess over measurement and you enjoy optimizing campaigns. You know that failed experiments are an important part of the process.

Organization and deadline orientation: You hate the thought of anything slipping through the cracks. Maybe you had a slipping-through-the-cracks experience in second grade when you forgot it was your day for Show & Tell, and the memory still haunts you. Spreadsheets, checklists, and words such as thorough are your comfort food. Your desk is probably organized, and it probably confuses the heck out of you that some of your friends find ways to be productive in a state of disorganized chaos.

Resourceful and gets stuff done: You have a way of making things happen even if it seems impossible - like pulling off a home-cooked dinner party for 30 people with 45 different dietary restrictions at your place at a week's notice - while making it all seem easy.

Persistence: You’ve probably been called obsessed once or twice as you’ve pursued a personal interest. When you latch onto something you care about, you dont let off the gas until its done. You are not afraid to be aggressive and to reach out to people you don't know.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and meaningful equity
  • Health, dental and vision insurance (100% covered)
  • Free lunch every day, plus free water — hot and cold!
