ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Senior Director, Content Marketing strategizes and oversees the execution of marketing campaigns for Audible's portfolio of content releases - from greenlight through launch - and will be critical to breaking the mold and creating campaigns that don't just meet culture, but push culture forward. Day to day, this role will shepherd campaign launches of Exclusive and Original titles across content verticals by developing strategy, running marketing tactics for promotion on and off the Audible/Amazon platforms, leading the development and execution of earned, owned and paid media plans, and working cross-functionally with additional teams, e.g. Social, PR, Creative Services, Editorial, CRM and Operation teams. The role will be interfacing with internal and external stakeholders (partners, talent and agencies) at all levels, including senior leadership. This role will oversee a team and will require a strong leader.

You are an experienced marketer of Original programming who has developed and executed short- and long-term campaigns that build brand equity and drive top of funnel awareness, trials, engagement, and sustained interest by customers. You are a natural collaborator with strong written, verbal and presentation skills and the ability to develop strong relationships across an organization. You are a strong advocate for your team and find ways to amplify their unique capabilities and interests. You support the overall goals of the team and senior leadership.
As a Senior Director, Content Marketing, you will...

  • Be responsible for harnessing the power of transformative campaigns to increase Audible perception and awareness.
  • Be a lead voice for content and the power of marketing among cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and lead a team of experienced and novice content marketers with a focus on Nonfiction (Journalism, Sports, Wellbeing, True Crime, Business, Tech, and more) content and our innovative Audible Theater initiative.
  • Think big to lead marketing strategy tailored to the specific programming verticals that compliments company goals.
  • Be immersed in company goals, ensuring that all campaigns are laddering to them.
  • Generate culture-forward creative campaigns with in-house creative teams, external agencies, and external partner teams staying within budget and meeting all deadlines.
  • Work collaboratively with partner teams from acquisition, owned social, comms colleagues, product, programming, and other critical orgs to find breakthrough moments.
  • Support the career development and individuals on your team within the larger Audible organization while setting a high bar for success.
  • Regularly review metrics, proactively seeking improvements in reporting and visual storytelling to amplify successes.
  • Oversee and/or prepare performance roundups and executive summaries related to the campaign's success.


Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in entertainment marketing, sports marketing, or current events marketing.
  • 5+ years leading a team.
  • Experience developing positioning and key messages to support defined goals, including marketing materials such as decks, one pagers, and case studies.
  • Strong Experience with Microsoft office, including Excel and PowerPoint, and fluency using business data to make critical business decisions and recommendations.

  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage projects and competing priorities.
  • Background in communicating complex information as simple, compelling stories.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with or in support of diverse communities.
  • Ability to create new procedures and workflow and justify why they should be created.
  • Team player with the ability to work effectively in high-energy, rapidly evolving organization.
  • Broad awareness of popular culture across media types.
  • A positive attitude and a sense of humor.
