ABOUT THE TEAM AND ROLE

theSkimm makes it easier to be smarter. We are redefining how to build products that fit into routines, and we take a user-centric, collaborative approach while doing so. theSkimm started as two friends on a couch and have since purchased more couches and gotten new friends, er... employees. The sales team at theSkimm is made up of experienced, resourceful, creative, scrappy hustlers. We pull out all of the stops to get sh*t done. We’re seeking an energetic, experienced creative strategist who is ready to jump in, think outside of the box, and build never before seen, best-in-class campaigns for theSkimm’s brand partnerships.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

You’re a storyteller and creative thinker. You understand our brand and how to uniquely build native experiences across multiple platforms that accelerate our brand partnerships and relationships with advertising. You’ll be in charge of creating big ideas for new and existing partners, bringing those ideas to life, and shepherding the development of future advertising products alongside sales, marketing and editorial, and our product and design teams. Nuts and bolts of the role include:

  • Creating unique, out of the box partnership and advertising ideas that leverage theSkimm’s one-of-a-kind brand, our partner brands, and our audience
  • Responsible for delivering best-in-class creative branded content ideas
  • Responsible for the final product of branded content ensuring that it lives up to the client’s marketing objectives and theSkimm’s brand
  • Conceptualizing branded content programs, including multi-platform ideas that include native content, video, audio, and 360 partnerships
  • Collaborating with multiple internal teams, including Analytics, Tech, Product & Editorial
  • Meeting with brands and clients to discuss ongoing and future opportunities
  • Working with the sales and marketing teams to investigate, evaluate, and pitch new partnership opportunities
  • Leading internal brainstorms that take campaigns to the next level

WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS

  • 10+ years of marketing experience
  • Previous experience in building branded content campaigns and/or campaign development experience
  • Experience with 360-degree multi-platform marketing programs and building integrated marketing campaigns for brands
  • Familiarity and enthusiasm for theSkimm, our products, and the utility we offer
  • Have exceptional attention to detail while still working under tight deadlines
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach
  • A self-starter, with the ability to handle stressful situations and think creatively

WHAT WOULD SET YOU APART

  • Experience working alongside tech, sales, and design teams. Ability to communicate in their shorthand
  • Have experience working directly with brands and building campaigns tailored to reach specific KPIs
  • A strong portfolio of work
  • Experience with digital, mobile, video, and social media marketing
  • Knowledge of agency environment
  • Willingness to thrive in a startup organization, highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and energetic
