Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Analytics is responsible for defining, building, and managing the analytics capability and reporting processes for Moda Operandi’s marketing organization. This role will work with a broad group of leaders to shape the future of analytics, and support the long-range top & bottom line goals of the business. This position is also responsible for setting the analytic agenda, designing best practices, and applying innovative techniques and tools to create a competitive advantage for Moda Operandi.

What You'll Do

  • Develop strategies to increase traffic across product categories and throughout global markets
    • Define spend by channel, develop traffic goals and critical milestones
  • Implement key initiatives for client acquisition and retention at all touch points
    • Develop client acquisition road-map and marketing performance KPIs
  • Viewed as valuable business partner by peer leaders and Board, imparting breakthrough insights and solutions
    • Provide thought leadership through analytical insights that drive business decisions and outcomes

  • Leads the data synthesis process to assess risk, address issues, and identify costs and opportunities

  • Demonstrates exceptional strategic agility and hands-on ownership of action based project plans
  • Communicates analytic direction, marshals alignment to vision and strategy, and applies specific timelines for achievement
  • Facilitates processes/programs cross-functionally and serves as a strategic business partner across the organization
  • Effectively influences without authority and maintains collaborative partnerships
  • Leads, develops, and motivates teams (both direct and indirect reports) in the development of comprehensive project plans and throughout execution
  • Oversees vendor relationships and strategy, including negotiating contracts, and working with finance and legal partners
  • Able to attract and retain high caliber talent to the organization
  • Sets culture of strategic and innovative thinking by teaching and mentoring associates to see the big picture
  • Ensures the analytics capability builds “best in class” practices and standards and continues to innovate modeling approaches and technologies
  • Ensures the highest standards for the Moda Operandi brand and client experience
  • Possesses excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written)

Essential Skills, Experience and Educational Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience leading a team within a global ecommerce or omni-channel environment
  • 5+ years of experience leading quantitative teams and initiatives, with the primary goal of creating innovative solutions to business problems
  • 5+ years of experience building models on large data sets 
  • Familiarity with visualization tools such as Tableau and Looker
  • Strong SQL skills, R or Python a plus

Industry Experience/Knowledge

  • Luxury goods knowledge is required
  • Direct ecommerce/omni-channel experience, or experience from a top-tier consulting firm
  • Comprehensive understanding of the fashion and luxury goods industry, consumer products and personal technology industries, and trends affecting them

Specific Skill Requirements:

  • Expert in all multivariate statistical techniques (e.g. regression, factor, cluster, etc.)
  • Expert in all model development and market information principles
  • Extensive knowledge and experience utilizing a broad range of analytic modeling tools and systemic solutions (marketing mix, forecasting techniques, price elasticity, test/control analysis, and working knowledge of multiple platforms and statistical software)

Educational Requirements:

  • Advanced quantitative degree, MBA, or other advanced graduate degree

Beneficial Skills and Experience

  • Experience driving life cycle programs, cohort-level conversion, spend by customer, and average order value
  • Experience in paid and organic search, comparison shopping engines, email and other online programs
  • Experience with digital analytics tools, platforms and infrastructure and/or network to acquire talent in this critical area
