Responsibilities:

• Work cross-functionally with Product, Technology, Marketing, Editorial teams to develop long-term SEO plan to significantly increase organic revenue
• Be the day-to-day expert responsible for driving SmartAsset’s SEO initiatives, metrics, and reporting
• Advise on backlinking and technical SEO strategy to ensure compliance with Google best practices
• Help define and coordinate execution of content plans around specific business goals
• Monitor performance of our keyword portfolio and advise on expansion opportunities
• Collaborate on tests to improve user engagement metrics and reduce bounce
• Stay current with the latest SEO trends, strategies and challenges
• Analyze the competitive landscape and use that to influence our SEO decisions 

Requirements:

• Must have at least 3-5+ years of experience managing SEO at a fast-growth company
• Practice of advanced SEO theory and applied techniques (web ranking, link analysis, data analytics, etc.)
• Extensive knowledge of current SEO best practices, including technical SEO considerations around backlinking, site structure and core web vitals
• Proven knowledge of HTML/CSS, basic server functions, and the definitions and SEO implications of advanced website techniques (AJAX, Flash, HTML 5)
• Proven track-record of increasing traffic, improving brand and site visibility within major search engines for important keywords, increasing site authority through trusted and natural link building, and surpassing conversion goals
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, drive hard to completion, and deliver effective results
• Adept at SEO analytics using tools such as Google Search Console, SEMRush, AHREFS, ScreamingFrog, Google Analytics, Authority Labs or similar
• Proven knowledge of website technologies such as platforms and CMSes preferred
• Strong foundation in quantitative analysis and decision making
• Self-motivated, ambitious and intellectually curious
