Senior Writer (Marketing)

We are currently seeking a creative, hardworking, and strategically sophisticated Senior Writer to join our Marketing Team in New York City. The Senior Writer — reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing Strategy — will play a critical role in crafting and executing impactful global communications strategies that will aid in Yext’s growth.
The successful candidate is an exceptional written and verbal communicator, meticulous researcher, and strategic thinker who is up for a challenge.
Responsibilities
- Turn raw notes/ideas/material into finely crafted pieces of content be it bylines, white papers, customer stories, scripts for a variety of channels, new media, etc.
- Support communications strategy and execution, with responsibilities spanning public relations, thought leadership writing, customer success story development, supporting global communications teams, research, and analyst and media relations activities
- Continually propose ways to optimize Yext’s communications strategy to improve performance and results
- Inspire, consult and advise other content producers to ensure Yext’s best foot is always forward
- Refine and execute our tone of voice for all things communications
- Polish corporate marketing, product marketing, corporate recruiting and/or social media copy content for clarity, grammar and superior delivery
- Draft and edit documents such as press releases, op-eds, blog posts, and customer success stories
Minimum Requirements
- Meticulous writer and editor with exceptional command of English grammar, spelling and punctuation with demonstrated creativity and attention to detail
- Experience owning a core strategic initiative and being a cross-functional ambassador for a department or organization, working well with others of very different skill sets and priorities
- Passion for digging deeper into new technologies and industry trends, and ability to offer ideas for new and creative applications of Yext’s content and thought leadership
- Experience developing strategic communications plans and making recommendations to senior executives
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, strategic thinker, resourceful, dedicated, detail-oriented, and organized
- Excellent leadership and teamwork skills
- Genuine interest in current events and the news, with a natural antenna for what’s newsworthy and what isn’t
- More than five years experience in a communications or other writing-intensive role at a tech company, public relations agency, news outlet, or other relevant organization.
- Bachelor’s degree
