NowThis is looking for a Community Manager, Series & Shows to join our video distribution team. We need independent self-starters and critical thinkers. We are looking for a social media strategist with knowledge of Facebook best practices, who can work across multiple shows & series. You will be responsible for all aspects of community management and audience development, by driving engagement and facilitating discussion that continues the conversation around the clock.

In this role, content creation meets data insights, and you will be the driving force behind it. You’ll be a crucial part of running day-to-day operations for multiple Facebook show pages and groups while also improving video optimization, streamlining workflow, and pushing forward audience growth. You will work across departments to build a content calendar, establish a consistent posting cadence, and ensure deadlines are met. This role reports to Head of Social Video & Publishing.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of video distribution for NowThis Series and Shows, specifically for Facebook Watch, YouTube, and Twitter
  • Maintain NowThis voice in copywriting across multiple channels, while keeping in mind that each page has its differences in tone
  • Work with Senior leads to develop and manage content calendars and posting schedules
  • Drive video consumption by creating community pages (i.e. Facebook groups) with a clear tone that encourages active participation
  • Monitor community pages (i.e. Facebook groups) and increase fan engagement by facilitating discussions and responding to comments
  • Partner with Insights to support channel growth by monitoring engagement and reporting key learnings to video producing teams
  • Create social media posts (such as images, polls, gifs) to promote series tune-in and encourage repeat viewership
  • Ensure all NowThis editorial standards, policies, and processes are observed and follow

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience running a social media account for a newsroom, digital outlet, or brand
  • Strong familiarity with social publishing tools, especially Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize projects, and communicate progress
  • Experience with partner outreach and managing social campaigns a plus
  • Able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom
  • Flexibility: We’re a newsroom, and breaking news doesn’t always happen during traditional hours
  • Foreign language skills are a bonus (please indicate fluency or proficiency)
