Social Media Engagement Specialist

We are looking for a world class social media engagement specialist to own all conversations on our international social channels. You will be on the frontline day in and day out, responsible for providing quick + easy solutions, instilling delight into the lives of our members, and fuelling growth in our social channels through proactive engagement initiatives.
What you’ll do:
Work closely with our Community Experience team and product liaison to manage support issues and bubble up feedback coming from social channels to our cross functional partners
Create our moderation and engagement best practices for global social media channels
Become an expert on the product, Meetup digital experience, and help literature intimately so as to provide helpful timely customer support in all social channels
You are the voice of Meetup in the social media space – you contribute to our global brand success through everyday interactions with our members, organizers, and the public
Contribute to a social media strategy that will drive quality audience growth, engagement, and traffic to achieve brand and business objectives
Generate conversations across platforms (including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) in a way that inspires our followers, celebrates showing up for each other, and educates the world about Meetup
Who you are:
You love customer service, it is immensely satisfying to you to be on the frontlines continually solving and engaging with our members and organizers
You are positive, proactive, and have a solutions oriented mentality
You have excellent writing and communication skills
You love social media and technology, you know what’s trending in these areas and push our team to think big about how we can leverage trends to build our global community
You are passionate about connecting with people in real life and actively participate in Meetups in your day to day life
You demonstrate excellent judgment – how to respond to a frustrated customer, when to escalate an issue, how to address a sensitive news event
You are agile like a jungle cat - adaptable and comfortable with change is your M.O.
You’re a quick learner and are interested in learning new systems and platforms
You are self-aware and interested in continually developing your skills
