Social Media Manager

We are looking for an experienced social media manager to oversee our social media presence and own the full funnel of our social media experience - from strategy development through to execution including posting content, engaging with people, and elevating our brand through world-class storytelling.
What you’ll do:
- You are the voice of Meetup in the social media space – you contribute to our global brand success through everyday interactions with our members, organizers, and the public
- Contribute to a social media strategy that will drive quality audience growth, engagement, and traffic to achieve brand and business objectives
- Hold ownership of how our brand is experienced on all social channels. This means that you have the final sign-off on content we post to channels, ensuring that our posts are high quality, accurate, mistake-free, and relevant
- You are an expert in how to amplify our social strategy through paid programs and will be accountable for how social media channels contribute to achieving the brand and business objectives.
- Partner with cross-functional teammates to ensure our entire organization is set up for success on our social channels
- Amplify all brand campaigns and key messages through a data-informed social media strategy to the right audience at the right time
- Manage and generate conversations across platforms (including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube) in a way that inspires our followers, celebrates showing up for each other, and educates the world about Meetup
- You’ll be dialed in on the Meetup experience and have a solid understanding for our members and organizers
- Support and empower the team by answering questions, giving timely feedback, resolving problems and providing training as needed
Who you are:
- You have your finger on the pulse of everything social media, you know the day an update is made on any of your key channels and are ahead of the latest trends
- Connecting with people is one of your passions and you find ways to make Meetup relevant to the conversations happening every day
- You demonstrate excellent judgment – how to respond to a frustrated customer, when to escalate an issue, how to address a sensitive news event
- You love numbers almost as much as you love storytelling. You are comfortable with working in excel and reviewing the performance of our social media campaigns so as to make powerful data-informed decisions for the future
- You have experience and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- You’re a quick learner and are interested in learning new systems and platforms
- You are self-aware and interested in continually developing your skills
- Details matter to you and communication is your jam
- Flexibility to work on weekends and off-hours (available when content is posted and when our community is speaking to us)
