As the Social Media Manager, you will lead Meetup’s global Social Media Strategy and content plan. You serve as the voice of Meetup on our global channels, and own how our channels are experienced. You are accountable for creating and implementing a strategy to drive quality brand awareness, audience engagement, and follower growth. You will sit on the Brand + Community team at Meetup.
What you’ll get to do in this role:
Social Media Strategy
- Develop and execute social media content strategy to bring Meetup brand to life in a way which will drive audience growth, engagement and traffic to achieve brand and business objectives
- Amplify campaign key messages and brand priorities to drive quality growth
- Partner with cross functional teammates to ensure entire organization is set up for success on social channels and key initiatives are supported and amplified on social media
- Train and support international social storytellers to build highly engaged global social audience
- Look for opportunities to partner with, and tell stories about, Meetup groups and organizers through a social lens
- Support and participate in Brand + Community team strategy development and execution
- Develop and execute social media growth strategies to enable Meetup to hit company KPI’s
- Serve as a social media platform expert - bring industry trends, innovative ideas, and fresh ways to engage with our audience to the table on a regular basis
Content Creation + Sharing
- Articulate vision for social media channels and enroll the team powerfully to execute this vision
- Curate photography / videography / illustrations to create content to post on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter several times a week. You will have final sign off on what goes live on Meetup’s social channels
- Collaborate closely with our creative team to determine the right content mix, medium, and creative approach for the content you plan to share
- Ensure creative assets are optimized based on social strategy
- Manage a social media calendar and content flow; building out new campaign ideas while also managing evergreen content
- Schedule and post content through our CMS tool, Sprinklr
Reporting
- Partner with social media engagement specialist on creation of social media reports on a regular basis to monitor and make improvements on content
- Monitor content performance and optimize across channels for engagement
- Analysis of engagement to inform future creative, ideal frequency, time of day to post, etc.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Experience managing multiple social media channels simultaneously on a day to day basis for a brand or at an agency
- Expertise in managing Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube accounts
- Developed and managed a social media content calendar that includes both evergreen content and campaigns
- Successfully created and implemented a cross-functional social media marketing strategy
- Excellent collaboration skills; loves what happens when great minds come together to brainstorm and ideate
- Ability to articulate their point of view while maintaining flexibility in their approach
- Loves all things social - is the go-to for what’s trending, what’s not, and what innovative brands are doing on social media, globally
- Demonstrable experience using a social media content management tool (at Meetup we use Sprinklr)
- Has 3-5 years of social media work experience
