Resident is seeking a social media manager to lead its organic social strategy and elevate the storytelling for its various brands through timely, engaging campaigns working in collaboration with the larger creative communications team. Reporting to Resident’s head of PR, social, influencer, and partnerships, this is a critical role that will support the company’s overall marketing efforts across Resident’s myriad social and digital platforms in the U.S.
Ideal candidates will have a deep passion for current events, trends and popular culture, with demonstrable experience in developing innovative social strategies that spark genuine interactions with brand loyalists and prospective customers/fans. Experience in consumer brands and/or the home and design space is strongly preferred. A proven track record for successful campaign execution with measurable results is a must.
What You'll be doing:
- Strategy: Create and implement social media strategy across multiple Resident brands while ensuring alignment with overarching business goals. Platforms include but are not limited to: Instagram (and Stories), Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
- Content management: This role will own the content calendar and creative briefing process working in collaboration with the larger brand communications team.
- Stakeholder engagement: Manage a cross-functional team of senior stakeholders across business units to ensure alignment on strategies, tactics and outcomes.
- Content ideation and creation: Create and source compelling content by briefing photo and video shoots, content capture, and identifying on-brand UGC.
- Analyze: Interpret social media insights using social listening tools, analytics platforms, and SEO to guide campaigns, maximize engagement, and make data-backed recommendations as we iterate content.
- Collaboration across multiple teams: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand how their goals are best represented and amplified by social channels; strategize/create posts for those teams while maintaining brand consistency and narrative.
- Monitoring and engagement: Collaborate with Community Management team on social listening to identify opportunities for optimization of content.
Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of progressive social media experience managing multiple products, ideally within a complex, fast-paced corporate or agency environment in the consumer space
- Ability to provide both high-level/strategic and tactical support
- Excellent management and relationship building skills
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities simultaneously while adapting to deadlines
- Sound judgment and a keen instinct about what’s “on-brand”
- Fluency with social analytics, social advertising (e.g. Facebook Ads), SEO, Campaign Manager, and other data and measurement platforms
- Strong experience directing/developing social media assets (both photography and video) is a must.
- Baseline level of video and/or photo editing skills are a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design or related field
