About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and data-driven media professional to be a part of our world-class in-house media team. The Senior Media Negotiator will work closely with the Director of Brand Media Buying to purchase and manage multi-million dollar media budget across TV (Linear & Streaming) and Audio (Terrestrial & Streaming). This role will be based out of New York City.

What you'll do:

  • Negotiate, purchase, maintain, and steward video and non-linear video media buys, focusing on Direct Response TV, Upfront, Scatter, Audio, and OTT/connected TV
  • Manage a significant budget: planning, tracking, optimizing, and reporting on spend across tactics, working closely with Strategy, Analytics, and Accounting/Finance
  • Serve as marketplace expert, providing insight to the marketplace conditions and vetting new and emerging media and marketing opportunities
  • Foster relationships with media vendors and negotiate to maintain or improve the buys
  • Implement revisions to the buys as directed by campaign performance
  • Build a strong partnership with the Analytics, Creative, and Strategy team
  • Collaborate with internal teams to build and execute testing strategies that drive business efficiencies
  • Work closely with the Director to organize workflow and deadlines to achieve all timelines
  • Train, oversee and mentor a team of Negotiators
  • Meet all due dates for buys, post analyses, and assigned projects by supervisor

Who you are:

  • BA in marketing, communications, media, business or related
  • At least 5+ years of media buying experience, managing cross-channel broadcast marketing campaigns; working in a fast-paced media agency or in- house brand
  • At least 1-2+ years of experience managing a team
  • Experience with emerging TV platforms (connected TV/OTT, addressable, Audio Streaming and Radio)
  • Proven success working on client with large TV media budgets with high performance expectations and branded media knowledge
  • Conscientious and flexible - thrives in a fast paced, culturally diverse environment
  • Excellent communicator, with strong time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills required
  • Proactive self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to meet team goals
  • Strong research, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills required (taking concepts and ideas and translating them into solutions)
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with MediaOcean software (Prisma, MBOX) preferred
