The Role:

Newsela’s User Engagement Marketing Coordinator will be a key player in bringing to life the activities, events, campaigns, and content that engages our user base of millions of teachers and students. From compiling content for our newsletters to starting and encouraging discussions on the Newsela Community, this role helps execute the marketing tactics that cause people to fall in love with Newsela. During the school year the User Experience Marketing Coordinator will help bring teacher-facing webinars and speaker series to life; over the summers this role will help launch our Teacher User Groups; and during the back-to-school season you’ll help make sure teachers across the country are set up for success with Newsela in the classroom. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Community Engagement, this coordinator will join a team of dedicated marketers that focus on creating a delightful user experience and dynamic community atmosphere for teachers.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

This role is the perfect opportunity to explore all facets of marketing at an education technology company. You’ll create beautiful emails and engaging newsletters in the morning, project manage community events and liaise with external speakers at noon, and pull data reports and analyze benchmarks and trends before the day ends. Through it all, you’ll work alongside a team of 20+ other dedicated marketers with a range of skills and passions who are eager to learn and eager to teach. And best of all, at the end of the day you’ll be able to reflect on how your work directly impacts the lives of teachers and students across the nation and around the world, providing them with the materials to facilitate meaningful classroom learning for every student.

Why We’ll Love You:

With 2+ years of experience in marketing, project management, and/or client support, you have top-notch customer service skills and treat people with kindness, respect, understanding, and patience. You’ve worked to connect, engage, inform, or develop a community of users, students, members, alumni, patients, or stakeholders vis-a-vis a mission. You also know how to take incredible ideas and convert them into a clear and concise project plan that prioritizes deadlines and feasibility. You can help motivate internal and external stakeholders to work on-message, under budget, and on time. You also have experience with online tools used for project management (we use Monday.com), email and marketing automation (we use Marketo) and design (we use Canva). You can pull data reports from these systems to set benchmarks, forecast growth, analyze trends, and identify risks.
