We are seeking at VP of Communications who will define and establish our communications strategy and voice, leading efforts to build our corporate narrative and bring our story to the world. Our ideal hire will build strong relationships with key audiences and use their influence and excellent story-telling skills to energize and align both internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the CMO, the ideal candidate will have a proven record of success, building and positioning brands as well as establishing relationships with trade and consumer press. 

What you’ll do:

  • Craft and execute internal and external communications that express Stash’s vision, brand, and position through media relations, executive communications, issues management, and growth focused PR strategies
  • Continue to evolve, evangelize and proliferate Stash’s strategic narrative both inside and outside the company
  • Ideate, coordinate, and execute aggressive growth strategies with the growth marketing team (paid and organic efforts)
  • Align with People Ops and HR to develop best practices for internal comms
  • Develop an in-depth understanding across all of Stash’s Products and Solutions to effectively create and execute key messaging aligned with organizational strategic objectives and operational performance
  • Craft research and studies to create opportunities for media exposure
  • Collaborate with data science to mine our deep customer data for press worthy narratives
  • Design, develop and implement communications initiatives to build and position our corporate brand and solutions
  • Develop and oversee corp comm assets including press releases, talking points for executives, presentations, Q&As, and briefing documents and fact sheets that create awareness and establish our position
  • Develop a strategy and process for identifying and managing key speaking opportunities for executives and award recognition opportunities for the company
  • Enable and train company spokespeople to deliver consistent and compelling messages
  • Evangelize our message and mission with media, industry organizations, and influencers
  • Keep current on relevant industry, economic, and governmental issues that could impact our business, position or messaging
  • Communicate regular media and issues updates to senior management

Who we’re looking for:

  • 12+ years experience leading strategic communications in the technology and/or financial services industry
  • Startup experience is a must
  • Superior writing skills with the ability to craft provoking and compelling narratives
  • Experience with developing research and studies
  • Substantial experience running thought leadership initiatives
  • Experience managing internal PR teams and external agency relationships
  • Candidate should be a strategic thinker, an inspiring leader, and a team player that is motivated by getting their hands dirty
  • Must be highly motivated, possess a positive attitude, have excellent organizational skills, and exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • A self-starter, with the ability to work efficiently, managing multiple priorities with tight deadlines
