Apparel Production Assistant
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Peloton is seeking an Apparel Production Assistant to join our team in New York, NY.
In this role you will be supporting the Apparel Production team on all production related daily tasks, following the production cycle alongside the internal team and the factories.
You will be partnering with all business functions including Design, Tech Design, Merchandising, Planning and Logistics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with the Apparel Production Data Analyst to generate and track purchase order (PO) creation, distribution and maintenance for all apparel and accessories- creating all purchase orders for the Apparel team
- This role will continually follow up to ensure that purchase orders are always reflecting the most updated style details, pricing, & ship date
- Collect WIP reports for weekly tracking from Apparel vendors partners
- Collaborate with the production and logistic teams for packing list approval and shipment schedules to ensure timely delivery of product, shipments cannot be released without this function reviewing all packaging lists and approving shipments
- Follow up to ensure our Shipment Tracking tool is updated and reflecting the latest style details, ship dates, & ship modes
- Update any shortages or overages to the shortage/overage reports
- Liaison with accounts receivable for invoice processing, ensuring that all purchase orders are updated in the system so that invoices can be sent over to AP
- Participate in weekly cross functional meetings and report on milestones
- Maintain meeting notes during the weekly production meeting & recap to production team members
- Establish cross functional partnerships with Merchandising, Technical Design and Logistics teams at Peloton
- Place all photoshoot requests and follow up with factories on timing
- Follow up with vendors for photoshoot sample invoices and validate all costing before submitting to accounts payable
- Request and track all photoshoot samples, wear test samples, and possible fit sample tracking support needed
- Maintain organized filing system for the Product Development & Production teams including all approved lab dips, strike offs and trim submits
- Prepare all outgoing packages from the product team to all vendors
- Track all incoming packages for the product team from all vendors
- Track & request any warehouse units needed for quality review
- Compile vendor quality report and track any customer or store quality feedback seasonally
- Run reports from the PLM/ERP systems for team analysis
- Schedule meetings on team calendars following the seasonal Production Calendar milestones.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of experience in apparel production, active market preferred
- A go getter with a positive, no task too big or too small attitude
- Highly organized & detail oriented with strong time management skills
- Experience with apparel PLM & ERP systems, Netsuite a plus
- Strong communication skills; proven ability to organize multiple channels of communication
- Basic knowledge of fabrics, garment construction and garment testing
- Eagerness and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, driven by teamwork and collaborative innovation
- Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables, Vlookup, Retail Math formulas) & G Suite
