Away is a global lifestyle brand with a mission to transform travel through products and content that inspire people to get away more. In support of our mission, we are seeking an Art Director, Digital to join our Creative team. 

Want to help us transform the travel experience? The ideal candidate will lead the concepting and art direction for performance marketing campaigns and seasonal product launches. You’ll also be helping support integrated marketing concepts and creating on-brand materials for paid social, ecomm, and email. From pre to post production, you’ll partner with a team of internal and external producers, copywriters, content creators, editors, and animators to develop content that break performance records, driving efficient and impactful business results. You will report to our Creative Director, Digital based in our New York City office.

What you’ll do:

  • Shape the strategic & creative output of our paid social channels, guiding growth creative campaigns from concept to production to design
  • Partner with the growth team to ensure that content is backed by data and insights, leveraging best practices by channels. Iterate and optimize on existing high performing ads
  • Lead art direction, put together briefs for partners, guide content creators/influencers from ideation to execution
  • Work with post-production partners to deliver feedback and shape concepts
  • Partner with the growth team to unlock new testing opportunities and audiences
  • Help identify the formats, styles, and messages that drive impact: you bring new ideas and strategic thinking that balances business needs and forward thinking
  • Pursuing and maintaining an exceptional level of craft with the highest design standards and attention to detail across typography, layout, print, digital & motion
  • Create high quality presentations for internal and external use. Presenting work thoughtfully and confidently to cross functional teams
  • Have a pulse on the landscape of social advertising, monitoring the trends and platform evolutions
  • The ideal candidate has experience working on digital creative advertising, possesses a deep appreciation for performance insights and thrives on getting results and learnings from the work you put into the world.

Who you are:

  • Minimum 3-6 years of experience as an Art Director, ideally for startups or agencies.
  • Proficient with Figma, GSuite and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Post-production skills to edit video, create motion graphics, make retouching notes, design typographic treatments etc.
  • A strong understanding of peripheral design processes (Photo Art Direction, Illustration Art Direction, on set experience, working directly with content creators, etc)
  • A strong understanding of responsive design and mobile-first approach
  • A strong understanding of ecommerce and how cross-channel and social platforms integrate with our online shopping experience
  • Team player with a "no task is too small" attitude
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Passionate about transforming travel (but that’s a given!)
