A pioneer in K-12 education since 2000, Amplify is leading the way in next-generation curriculum and assessment. Our captivating core and supplemental programs in ELA, math, and science engage all students in rigorous learning and inspire them to think deeply, creatively, and for themselves. Our formative assessment products turn data into practical instructional support to help students at every skill level build a strong foundation in early reading and math. Our programs provide teachers with powerful tools that help them understand and respond to the needs of all their students. Today, Amplify serves over eleven million students in all 50 states.
Amplify is seeking a Spanish Language Arts (SLA) Technical Documentation and Standards Specialist to help develop core curricular materials for elementary students. Our small, highly collaborative team develops lessons that bring rich, standards-aligned domains of knowledge into SLA classrooms, using those domains to engage students, build literacy skills, and develop those skills into close, careful reading; writing, speaking, and listening for diverse audiences and purposes; and pursuing a deep curiosity about the world. To do this, we need people who 'get' both text and elementary students, who are ready to think creatively about critical literacy skills, who possess a deep understanding of standards-aligned instruction, and who have an impeccable eye for detail.
Responsibilities of the Technical Documents and Standards Specialist:

  • Create standards correlations
  • Create technical documents, rubrics, and other materials to support the program's submission for district and state adoptions
  • Collaborate with the content team, marketing, and the Associate Director, Spanish Language Arts, to create materials that explain and explore the program's pedagogy, instructional model, research basis (including connection to the Science of Reading), and other elements of program design

Basic Qualifications of the Technical Documents and Standards Specialist:

  • BA degree in Education, Spanish, or Humanities field
  • 3+ years work experience in K-5 education
  • Experience creating standards alignments and documentation for state-level adoptions
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize work, and balance multiple projects
  • Knowledge of the early literacy field, including the Science of Reading
  • Native or bilingual (Federal ILR Level 5) proficiency of the Spanish language, with a strong command of its nuanced rules in spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Full professional proficiency (Federal ILR Level 4) verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications of the Technical Documents and Standards Specialist:

  • Experience working on Spanish Language Arts programs
  • Experience crafting or supporting curricula that integrates different genres, technologies, and media
  • Experience teaching a diverse range of learners
  • Widely read, with strong reading and critical thinking skills
  • Experience working successfully with a team
  • Proven strength in written and oral communication
  • Strong attention to detail

We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. To that end, we seek to recruit, develop and retain the most talented people from a diverse candidate pool.
