We are looking for a Care Advocate to join our team! The Care Advocate is highly responsive, resourceful, empathic, and professional, has a background in mental health, and will assist our licensed clinical care navigators in reducing barriers to successful care and matching our members to the right resources.
In this role you will:
- Utilize verbal and written communication skills to interact with members by phone, chat, and email.
- Assist clinical care navigators with research, referral, and member follow up to ensure connection with appropriate care and resources.
- Take a proactive and reactive approach, involving problem solving and high-touch support, in order to de-escalate issues, promote an excellent member experience, and eliminate barriers to mental health care.
- Interact with multi-disciplinary teams such as care support, clinical care navigators, Spring Health's therapists and physicians and provider operations team, and benefits/billing to ensure a smooth member experience.
- Escalate members with risk concerns and/or complex clinical needs to clinical care navigators.
- Identify and problem-solve issues that serve as a barrier or disruption to care, with support from clinical care navigators and leadership.
- Review records, provide case summaries, and upload information to patient charts.
- Engage in special projects to help develop, improve, and expand clinical programs and service offerings, or to enhance internal team or company initiatives.
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
- Assist with onboarding and mentoring new team members.
- Follow Spring Health policies and maintain all confidentiality and compliance standards.
- Provide feedback and advice on product/technology/service improvements
What we expect from you:
- Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or mental health counseling; Masters preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year working in within a mental health patient care setting (e.g., psychiatric hospital; community mental health agency)
- Exceptional active listening and communication skills.
- Understanding of privacy and ethical guidelines within patient care.
- Acknowledge and embrace diversity and inclusion.
- Motivated to go above and beyond for members to provide a high-touch experience.
- Tech-savvy: must be comfortable using various computer platforms and learning new systems, and efficient in tech-related tasks.
- Detail oriented but able to multi-task and context switch!
