The Opportunity

We are looking for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who will create and deliver on a future vision to build this venture in a start-up ecosystem buoyed by strong financial backing. This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial leader with the right mix of passion, energy and experience to start something new to quickly accelerate growth through differentiated marketing, digital innovation, and substantial product expansion via mutually beneficial partnerships. The successful candidate will quickly build a talented team, and own the end to end success of a venture that will create a digital market opportunity that responds to the ever-changing landscape of consumer needs and wants.

In this role you will: 

  • Lead Strategy
    • Develop a robust short and long term growth strategy and execution plan to deliver on lofty goals for 2020 and beyond; continuously evaluate and evolve to stay ahead of the market
    • Create an aggressive consumer acquisition strategy in the short term
    • Establish strategic partnerships within the parent company and with other companies to reach ambitious growth targets
    • Drive growth and profitability, achieve revenue objectives, and build company value
  • Build Great Talent & Teams
    • Build and lead a high performing, results oriented core team that will rally and deliver on the vision
    • Lead in a way that attracts and inspires followers in a “one team” culture
  • Execute with Excellence
    • Lead the execution of channel and product development, marketing, customer service, and financial and organizational management leveraging our functional expertise. 
    • Ensure strategies and methodologies are scalable and can serve as model ways of operating to be leveraged by others
  • Win in the Market
    • Manage competition and market threats assessing financials, capital and strategic priorities on an ongoing basis
    • Drive continuous improvement and differentiation from competitors
  • Mobilize Stakeholders
    • Provide regular updates and reports to the Board of Directors and executive leadership reporting on strategic milestones and financials; influence to accelerate progress
    • Invest in strategic partnerships and relationships to accelerate growth
  • Inspire with Purpose
    • Be the face, voice and spirit of the company including evangelizing customer and digital experience through public speaking and digital media in and outside of the start-up sector
    • Ensure company objectives and standards of performance comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements

You should have:

  • Start-up leadership experience (C Suite or VP+ level) driving strategy and vision; prior CEO and/or Founder experience highly desirable
  • Proven recent track record delivering digital products and solutions along full growth lifecycle of a start-up with digital marketing, marketing technology and/or P&L responsibilities
  • Ability to drive B2B partnerships with an extensive industry network
  • Strong general manager with a growth and agile mindset and demonstrated experience taking professional risk
  • Entrepreneurial and innovative mindset with unbridled passion for driving differentiated customer and digital experiences in an industry not known for doing so
  • Prior experience in insurance and digital distribution channels with digital transformation initiatives in traditional companies a plus
  • Keen eye for top talent and a track record for building and scaling innovative and collaborative cross-functional teams from the ground up
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, management, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Strong desire to lead from a strategic and tactical perspective across all aspects of day to day company operations
  • Exceptional presence with verbal and written communication skills that inspire confidence and credibility; experience presenting to Boards of Directors and/or investors
  • Ability to lead, leverage, and influence matrixed functional resources
  • High degree of integrity and ethics with understanding of regulatory guidelines and restrictions
