Chief of Staff to CTO

What You'll Do
In this role, you'll work with our senior technical leaders to execute a variety of targeted and ongoing projects intended to improve the efficiency, scalability, and long-term posture of our technical culture. You will have a great impact on how we build and operate our technology, and how we function as a team. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you'll:
- Serve as a key resource for the senior technical leaders in initiating company wide work-streams, assist in content creation, and gain alignment with key stakeholders
- Facilitate company wide work-streams, supporting the senior technical leaders with project management, data collection and analysis, and ensuring that internal client expectations are met
- Facilitate key work streams by playing an “extender” role to gather context or convene discussions on behalf of the senior technical leaders
- Facilitate content creation and communication for internal and external branding efforts of our technical culture
- Explore differences in work habits across Flatiron engineering and identify best practices or areas for improvement, in partnership with the People Ops and Ops Ex teams
- Projects include:
- Facilitation of strategic planning process for our security and technical operations teams, and supporting our overall technical governance
- Developing and tracking technical culture KPIs (measuring how well we build, operate, and function as a team)
- Partnering with People Ops on tracking and improving key activities such as hiring, internal mobility, technical career development, bootcamp / onboarding, continuing engineering education, mentorship, and leadership bench building
- Planning and organizing our cultural meetings and events such as our Engineering Summit, Hackathons, Engineering All Hands
- Partnering cross functionally to support the well-being, engagement, and productivity of remote teams and teams with remote technical members
Who You Are
You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. You have project management skills and demonstrated success in bringing to life strategic projects with multiple tasks and the involvement of a diverse, interdisciplinary team. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact.
- You have 3 to 5 years of project management, consulting experience, or other related roles
- You are an experienced project leader in an internal or external client-facing environment
- You have experience creating and presenting proposals to senior stakeholders and have strong written communication skills
- You have strong communication and relationship management skills
- You are passionate about our mission to improve healthcare through technology
- You are able to work independently on multiple, complex work-streams
- You are skilled in analyzing and presenting data (e.g metrics, KPIs)
- You are interested at software development, data science, technical operations, information security, and product design processes and tools
Extra Credit
- You have experience as a technical program manager, scrum-master, or other related roles
