Hi, we're Brigit! A holistic financial health company helping every American build a brighter financial future. With a business model that is aligned with our customers, we create transparent, fair, and simple financial products that put money back in the hands of our members, help them spend wisely, avoid unfair fees and build their credit quickly. We're backed by leading VC's including Lightspeed Venture Partners and DCM, a number of the world's most influential social impact investors like Flourish and Sound, and several mission driven celebrity investors like Kevin Durant and Will Smith! If autonomy, ownership, and having meaningful input at the company you work for is important to you, come join our growing team!

We're looking for a mission-driven Chief of Staff to help lead Brigit through its next growth phase. Reporting to the CEO, you'll play a critical role in helping to drive the decision making process across our business and help us scale through our next stage of hyper-growth.

What You'll Be Doing:

The role primarily includes analysis and research to help drive prioritization of initiatives, lead strategic plans and work with the CEO to define objectives across the organization. This role is a thought partner to the CEO, playing a key role in how we make critical decisions as well as executing on projects on behalf of leadership.

In this role you will also have the opportunity to interface with investors and partners as well as stand in for our CEO during meetings and speak on their behalf. The Chief of Staff will leave an indelible mark on the company and its operating culture, helping set the standard for strategy formation and organization as we grow. You will be an extension of the executive team, specializing in planning and execution. You’ll have an up-to-the-minute pulse on each function of the business, able to recall specific details at a moment's notice in order to keep the team aligned on our quarterly objectives and key results.

Your comprehensive knowledge of the business and its people will transform you into a trusted internal expert, able to guide and assist any member of the team. We are looking for motivated and independent thinkers who excel in fast-paced environments. We value tenacious curiosity and the drive to set and execute on ambitious business goals.

  • Act as a swiss army knife, helping the CEO execute the company’s priorities on a given day or week while working on medium term special projects and initiatives
  • Serve as a thought partner to leadership, standing in during meetings and speaking on their behalf when necessary
  • Support the CEO in communicating overall business strategy and goals to each function, while helping set these goals at the beginning of every quarter
  • Help the entire company work together more effectively through better process and documentation
  • Organize and coordinate cross-functional team projects, helping prioritize resources and bandwidth constantly
  • Identify and resolve issues on behalf of the executive team, maintaining a pulse on each business unit and ensuring teams are constantly aligned on priorities
  • Communicating with investors while helping to prepare board decks, investment decks, executive presentations and other high-value collateral
  • Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team on strategic priorities i.e. budgets, company OKR creation and alignment, and additional one-off strategic/operational projects
  • Ensure team priorities are linked to planning and execution; provide frequent visibility to the CEO and leadership team regarding progress toward OKRs

Who You Are:

  • You are organized and systematic in your approach to managing multiple deliverables, and relentless in getting over the finish line
  • You bring a broad mix of generalist ‘hard’ skills (e.g., financial modeling & analysis, story boarding & presentation building) and soft skills (e.g., EQ, first principles thinking, composure) to all interactions
  • You are a clear and articulate communicator and able to process and distill information; your oral and written communication is concise and structured
  • You are comfortable with change and ambiguity and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • You are a critical thinker, who invests the time to understand the full complexity of a problem and adopt a structured approach in how you tackle it
  • You enjoy working on multiple projects at once and are comfortable being put in new situations
  • You love being challenged and learning beyond your job “title”
  • You are a self-starter who thrives in fast paced, hyper growth environments

Your Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, MBA is an asset

An Insider's view of Brigit

What are some social events your company does?

One of my favorite events that Brigit has is employee-run quarterly breakfasts. The staff running the breakfast attempt do their best in impersonating a New York deli - making breakfast sandwiches on griddles and pourover coffee to order. We also try to encourage a no meeting and laptop policy during the breakfast hour to spend some quality time.

Jeremy

Engineering Manager

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

Our goal on Data Science is to strike the right balance between helping more users and minimizing losses. Most users need money to purchase food, gas, or even buy a meal. The credit underwriting models we use allow us to help as many people as we can and improve our user retention over time in order to achieve a competitive advantage.

Madhu

Senior Data Science Manager

How has your career grown since starting at the company?

I joined Brigit after graduating from college. During my 2.5 years at Brigit, my career has grown in ways I would not have expected. Six months into my time at Brigit, I began doing more backend work and moving into a Full-Stack role. After 1.5 years, I took on the role of technical lead on our Membership team.

Avery

Software Engineer -- Tech Lead

How do you make yourself accessible to the rest of the team?

I'm always available via slack and then I work to schedule skip levels with everyone on engineering, as well as with folks outside of engineering on occasion throughout the month to make sure I have a pulse on how folks are doing. Additionally I try to solicit feedback through our culture & development platform and use that to spur conversations.

Hamel

Co-Founder & CTO

What are some things you learned at the company?

In my time at Brigit I've been able to learn how not to just build a brighter future for others but for myself as well. Each and every day here I have had the opportunity to improve my problem-solving skills, adapt to meet the needs of our users, and provide them the information they need to build the lives they want for themselves.
