Overview

As the Commercialization Associate, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of new product launches, optimization of our current product delivery processes, and coordination of all commercialization aspects of The Sill’s strategic plans.

Location

This role will be located out of The Sill's NYC HQ with up to 25% travel to suppliers, partners, and other The Sill locations. 

Reporting

This role will report to the Director of Supply Chain & Procurement.

Role Description

The Commercialization Associate serves as the primary point of contact for coordinating new product launches and 3PL and fulfillment vendor management. As the person responsible for ‘air traffic controlling’ product launches, you will need to be able to juggle a number of different tasks and initiatives without losing sight of the details, be able to recognize and manage priorities, and be an excellent communicator. You’ll be dogged about upholding The Sill’s high standards for how new and existing stores should look and function.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Work with Marketing and Operations to determine the optimal way to deliver The Sill products to customers (e.g., how to pack, where to ship from, fulfill in-house or 3PL).
  • Coordinate all new product launches and 3PL vendor-partner onboarding.
  • Proactively identify, escalate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve critical issues as they arise; develop plans to correct missed deliverables.
  • Prepare and lead Commercialization meetings to ensure launches remain on track; conduct meetings as needed to address any urgent issues.
  • Coordinate 3PL Vendor Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Establish and implement Change Control process.
  • Review and analyze vendor proposals for new product launches.
  • Identify and help vet new strategic vendors (e.g., growers, sustainable packaging, new product lines).
  • Coordinate packaging optimization.
  • Perform onsite testing for new product commercialization.
  • Create and manage content related to training, processes, and procedures.
  • Partner with fulfillment to provide hands on training and guidance during launches.

  • Superb communication skills: ability to clearly, consistently, and professionally communicate up (with Senior Management / Leadership), across (with key cross-functional business partners, both internal and external), and down (junior team members, vendors), ensuring team is aligned on project status and aware of potential roadblocks. 
  • Highly collaborative, working cross-functionally across multiple disciplines.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with strong sense of urgency.
  • Effective organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, negotiate, and problem solve.
  • Natural understanding of how product development, fulfillment, and supply chain operations work.
  • Ability to maintain a positive, solutions-oriented attitude during challenging times; ability to ask for help when needed. 
  • High energy level and not afraid of getting your hands dirty (literally). 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience & demonstrated success as an operations analyst, project manager, or in operations consulting.
  • In-depth knowledge of new product development lifecycle including Operations, Product Development and Package Development.
  • Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
