ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Compliance Manager, Governance to join our growing team. In this role you will help to coordinate Current’s overall compliance with applicable state and federal rules, regulations, statutory requirements, as well as issuing bank partner requirements and expectations. Your area of compliance coverage includes consumer protection, privacy, product compliance advisement and BSA/AML compliance. Specifically, you will be charged with oversight of policies and procedures, risk assessments, training, and testing & monitoring. You will also provide support to our consumer compliance process including intake, investigation and coordination on response with our issuing bank partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Help to lead firm wide compliance with federal and state rules and regulations through oversight and governance efforts.
- Manage updating, delivery and/or implementation of compliance policies, procedures and training.
- Oversee consumer compliance efforts including management of and response to consumer complaints, and perform trend analysis.
- Coordinate with bank partners on regulatory examinations, assessments and audits.
- Track compliance issues to completion and ensure corrective actions have been implemented within specified timeframes.
- Partner with internal teams to provide compliance input as part of new product development and policy change recommendations.
- Assist in determining which regulations Current is subject to and advise management of the operational impact of such trends and changes.
- Conduct regulatory research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of consumer protection laws, regulations, and trends.
ABOUT YOU:
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in a bank, financial technology company, legal or other regulatory environment
- Broad knowledge of key regulations including consumer protection (Reg E, UDAAP, D, DD, CC, B, Z), privacy (GLBA, FCRA, CCPA), as well as the USA PATRIOT Act and Bank Secrecy Act.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a team with integrity and creating an inclusive environment.
- Experience in research, interpretation and application of banking law and regulation.
- Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to write internal policies and procedures.
- Excellent oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex ideas in understandable and effective ways to other departments and functions.
- Provide actionable recommendations and solutions to problems.
- Well organized, efficient, self-starter able to work independently.
- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in an efficient and effective manner.
- Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), or other certifications highly recommended.
