Customer Research at Policygenius...

Policygenius is looking for a Customer Research Lead to join our Marketing team and support insights across our product verticals, including Life Insurance, Property & Casualty Insurance, and other businesses. Reporting to the Head of Marketing Strategy & Growth, this role will be responsible for regularly surfacing actionable insights about Policygenius’ customers and potential customers, which would be used to shape our marketing strategies, creative messages, and customer experiences. It’s a highly collaborative role, involving working with all the teams in Marketing (Strategy & Growth, Acquisition, CRM, Brand) and also cross-functionally, collaborating with our Product and Operations teams as well.

In this role, you will…

• Develop and maintain a running list of key questions to answer (through qualitative and/or quantitative research) about our target customers, including their needs, behaviors and preferences across relevant product categories (e.g. life, home, auto insurance, estate planning) 
• Design and execute qualitative and quantitative research modules to answer key questions in the learning agenda 
• Collaborate with the Marketing Strategy & Growth team to shape customer-driven growth strategies using insights
• Partner with Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to refine the learning agenda and share key insights 
• Manage research studies and vendor partners to efficiently and cost-effectively gather insights
• Work closely with peers to stand up an information repository that clearly articulates evergreen customer insights to be shared more broadly across teams
• Build our research capabilities over time, documenting key methods, tools and techniques

We’d love to hear from you if…

• You have 7+ years of experience deriving insights that help shape consumer marketing strategies and customer experiences; experience in the financial services industry & 3+ years managing a team is preferred
• You have 7+ years of experience designing, executing, and distilling insights from quantitative and qualitative research (focus groups, IDIs, etc.) 
• You are facile working with digital research platforms (e.g. UserTest.com, UserInterviews.com, Remesh)
• You have existing relationships with research vendors, including sample partners, to shorten speed to execution 
• You have expertise in quantitative research analytics methods (e.g. discrete choice modelling design, conjoint analysis, derived importance analysis, factor analysis, latent-class segmentation)
• You’re excited to help build a research practice from the ground up, instilling proper methods and frameworks to lead successful outcomes
