We are launching a stealth venture in the physical therapy space called Up, with the mission to restore the mobility and confidence of those suffering from pain or injury. Our company combines in-person care with digital tools to improve patient engagement, adherence, and satisfaction.

About the Job

We are seeking out an experienced physical therapist to become our director of clinical operations.

As the director of clinical operations at Up, you will be responsible for the clinical vision at Up which includes growing our network of physical therapists, working with our product team to infuse clinical perspective, and designing training & feedback programs for our therapists to ensure we are providing the highest quality care to our patients.

Our ideal director of clinical operations has a deep commitment to clinical excellence and is eager to take initiative at a fast-paced technology startup. You will report to and work with the founding team. We are headquartered in New York City.

What you’ll do

  • Grow our network of physical therapists
    • Design hiring criteria and process for physical therapists to ensure our people are committed to clinical excellence
    • Develop onboarding process for our physical therapists, including credentialing and training on the Up platform
    • Work collaboratively with a recruiter to identify effective recruitment channels and value proposition for physical therapists
  • Support digital product development
    • Work closely with our operations and product teams to design clinical workflows for physical therapists (e.g. visit documentation)
    • Provide clinical perspective on key product features (e.g. outcomes tracking)
  • Design and manage on-going training and feedback
    • Develop training programs for physical therapists to ensure they are practicing at the top of their license
    • Establish feedback mechanisms to manage quality of our physical therapists on an on-going basis

What you’ll need

  • Background
    • Minimum of 5 years clinical outpatient physical therapy experience and 2 years clinical supervision or clinical program development experience
    • Located in New York City
    • Bonus: Experience at technology start-up
  • Behavioral skills
    • Proven people manager that is effective at building and fostering teamwork as well as maintaining composure when dealing with conflict
    • Comfort and interest working with technology and digital tool
    • Observable focus on patient experience
