The Department: Compliance

Compliance at Gemini is a team dedicated to managing the next generation of financial crime prevention in a complex and evolving regulatory environment. We are a diverse group of technology, legal, and operational professionals who develop new approaches to solving classic problems using cutting edge tools and processes.


The Role: Director, Compliance Advisory

The Director, Compliance Advisory is a senior member of the Compliance Department with responsibility for providing strategic advice and counsel to the Department with a primary focus in the financial crimes space. The role’s primary responsibilities include KYC implementation and design and regulatory change management. This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports.


Responsibilities:

  • Global Know Your Customer design and implementation
  • Develop and institute Regulatory Change Management program
  • Provision of strategic financial crimes (e.g., AML and Sanctions) related advice
  • Consultation on the design and effectiveness of sanctions and screening controls (e.g., transaction monitoring, adverse media screening, etc)

Minimum Qualifications

  • CAMS or other equivalent certification
  • Minimum of 12+ years experience building and operating compliance programs with a focus on AML/BSA and/or sanctions work
  • Expert knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and associated regulations
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • JD or MBA
  • Prior government (e.g., regulator/law enforcement/SRO) experience
  • Experience working in a global program across multiple jurisdictions
  • Multi-lingual
