Job Description

Passionate about digital health and data ventures? We're excited to launch recruitment for the newly crafted Director, Digital Health - Business Development and Licensing role in the Office of Technology Development (OTD). Our mission is to ensure that MSK's inventions have the greatest chance of being developed and commercialized to benefit patients and return the most value to MSK.

 

Reporting into our Sr Director, Tech Management and Commercialization, you will work closely with the VP, Technology Development, Chief Digital Officer (CDO), & executive leadership to navigate how best to package our assets (i.e. data - clinical, genomic) and structure partnership opportunities with external collaborators and investors with the aim of returning value to the institution, and enhancing MSK’s position and brand in the digital and data space.

 

This is a key role that will further enable our mission by working with scientists, physicians and administrators to build and maintain our leadership position in the fields of digital health, health informatics, patient data analysis and computational diagnostics.

 

You will:

  • Communicate our digital brand internally and externally through partnerships and technology transfer
  • Oversee patent strategy and portfolio for digital assets including realistic development and commercialization plans for each digital asset planned for technology transfer
  • Negotiate and execute agreements with strategic partners
  • Build “hub-and-spoke” technology transfer accelerator where MSK data and technologies are central to numerous partnerships
  • Establish process for MSK investigators/staff to identify and disclose inventions
  • Evaluate inventions for patentability and commercial potential, including market research studies and competitive landscape analyses

You have:

  • 10+ years bringing value to the digital health ecosystem primarily in the context of data assets, business development, strategy consulting, venture capital
  • Well networked and eager to serve as a key liaison by pursuing connections across the healthcare landscape e.g. biotech, pharma, hospitals, payors, providers
  • Track-record of leading dynamic, cross-functional teams and collaborating with executive leadership on key strategic development projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent; MS preferred
