Pursuit is looking for a Director of Strategic Business Operations to shape and execute our strategy, plan and implement critical initiatives. Reporting to the COO, you will partner with the leadership across the organization to turn strategy into execution, define organization-wide goals and success metrics. As the Director of Strategic Business Operations you will: 

  • Lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives across the organization, driving alignment on priorities and deliverables with cross-functional teams by leading the Operating Committee and weekly All-Staff meetings
  • Manage organizational annual planning, goal-setting, and operational planning 
  • Support Sr. Leadership team on organizational / cross-functional decision-making with analyses, data, insights
  • Design, implement, enable a framework and structure for assessing efficacy and efficiency across the organization.
  • Develop high-level data strategy for organization and manage a Data Analyst, who will be responsible for reporting and implementation of data dashboards and system interconnection, to do the following:
  • Manage the team responsible for org-wide systems and tools, equipment and systems provisioning and troubleshooting for staff and fellows  and Office/Facilities management 
  • Design and optimize business processes to help various teams scale, define, and execute on monthly goals

What you need to be considered for this role: 

  • At least 5 years experience managing projects
  • At least 3 years managerial experience, including hiring
  • Experienced manager who has built a team and enjoys coaching, mentoring, and ensuring the successful performance of a team
  • Business Generalist who can quickly upskill on new areas and drive results
  • Track record of successfully operationalizing strategic goals
  • Ready to get hands dirty and sweat the details of our work
  • Data-driven and results-focused
  • Creative, flexible, and solution-oriented

Where you’ll work: 

  • Virtually—for now—from your home or our community office space in Long Island City, NYC
  • Because we are One Big Team, we are having conversations on what a return to in-person work schedules would look like and are actively gathering feedback from staff and fellows to determine the best course of action
